The Late Tom Kerrigan

The late Tom Kerrigan pictured accepting a club jersey from St Ultans Chairperson Tony Casserly on the occasion of his 90th birthday last October. Pic St. Ultans GAA.

A Great Gael was laid to rest in his native Moyaugher soil last Friday, June 18th.

For many years Tom Kerrigan was a tremendous servant of Gaelic Games in the parish of Bohermeen.

He lined out with old Bohermeen teams during the 1950's and came to prominence as an official of Bohermeen Martry Harps, a new parish combination which was formed during the mid 1970's.

Tom occupied many roles for the fledgling club but became best identified as an able representative for the Harps at County Board meetings. There and for many years,he argued and presented the clubs case with a fierce sense of pride and passion, allied to an abundance of tact.

Tom Kerrigan was in his 91st year at the time of his passing and was an Honorary President of St. Ultans, the present GAA flag bearers in the area.

On a side note Tom had a great gra for the horses and was a regular at race meetings around the country.

Our sincerest condolences to his wife Maureen, family and friends. His like will be hard to replace in Bohermeen parish.

Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
