Brian O'Reilly gains possession against Nobber during the Corn Na Boinne Cup game in Nobber

St. Michaels 0-17, Nobber 0-08

St. Michaels delivered a composed display of attacking football as they ran out nine point winners over their neighbours in Nobber last evening.

Nobber who were forced to line out without their county star Jordan Morris never led and didn't look comfortable playing at the pace the 'Michaels lads were setting, although their best play was either side of the interval when they added six of their eight scores.

The visitors were reduced to 14 men on 37 minutes when Brian Reilly received a black card

Shane McDonnell and Oran Meehan who scored four points apiece were always a threat in front of the posts but in truth St. Michaels were best all over the field with Brian O'Reilly outstanding in the engine room as he set up numerous attacks and assists on the Nobber defence and posted a fine individual effort on 53 minutes.

It took Nobber 11 minutes to open their account as McDonnell, Meehan, Cian McFadden, Cian Sheridan and Aaron O'Connell all got on the scoreboard in the opening half to lead by double scores at the break 0-8 to 0-4, a lead that should have been much greater had they not posted a handful of wides.

The home side opened the second half scoring and both sides traded points up to the second water break with Sheridan, Meehan and Christopher Drew all registering scores.

The final quarter was all St. Michaels as points from Brian O'Reilly, Meehan and substitutes Ciaran Lynch and Ray Reilly closed out the game.
