Donal Keogan and mascots lead out Meath for the round 7 clash against Cavan

It was a very proud day for these two mascots this date six years ago.

Hand in hand with captain Donal Keogan they led out Meath for the round 7 National Football League Division 2 clash with neighbours Cavan on April 5th 2015 at Pairc Tailteann.

It was all to play for entering the final round of games and while Meath rounded off their campaign with a 0-14 to 0-12 win over the Breffni County, results elsewhere went against them and they lost out on promotion to Roscommon on the head to head rule.

Both teams had finished the campaign on nine points but the Rossies had beaten the Royals 2-10 to 0-14 in a round 3 refixture.

The Meath scorers that day against the Breffni men were: Mickey Newman (0-6), Stephen Bray (0-2), Shane O'Rourke (0-2), Bryan Menton (0-1), Eamon Wallace (0-1), James McEntee (0-1), Mickey Burke (0-1)
