Dunderry 5-10.  St. Patricks 4-9

Dunderry came into this Junior 2 HC semi final as underdogs but that tag didn't last long from the opening whistle.

With their first attack Adam Kelly turned his marker cut in from the stand sideline and fired a rocket of a shot into the net, followed by a point from a superb sideline cut in the 4th min. Pat's replied with a point but Bob Doherty opened his account with a point in the 6th min followed by a fine point in the 11th min from Liam Dempsey. Pat's scored 3 points before Conroy scored a point in the 21st min followed by 2 points in the 21st min free from Doherty and a well taken point in the 29th min from Cillian Leonard. The final play of the half saw Pat's score a goal after a high ball caused confusion in the Dunderry defence.

The 2nd half saw St. Pat's first out the blocks with a goal in the 31st min, but Doherty replied with a '65' in the 32nd min. Pat's scored 2 points before Leonard scored a fine point in the 38th min after good work from Davy Gilkeson and Stefan Clarke. In a 3 minute spell Dunderry turned the game around firstly Leonard won the slitor on the edge of the large square turned his marker and fired low into the net, then from an Alan Casey clearance Doherty flicked on the slitor Gilkeson ran clear and fired across the keeper into the net on the 46th min. Leonard scored his second goal in the 51st min then Kelly took on 2 defenders put a pass across the 21yrd line where Lee Walsh took on 2 defenders along the end line and squeezed the slitor into the net. Pat's replied with 2 late goals but Doherty hit 2 late free's to put Dunderry into the final on a score of 5-10 to 4-9.
