That's one way of sorting an ankle injury

It’s down to the finals. Ratoath v Gaeil Colmcille, Ballinabrackey v Trim and Ballivor v St Vincents. Here’s our best XV after another hectic weekend of club football action.

1 Evan Connor (St. Vincents): The Ardcath number 1 made several important interceptions in their narrow JFC win over Dunsany under lights at Ashbourne.

2. Adam Muldoon (Gaeil Colmcille): Introduced in the 36th minute and what a substitution. Steadied the Kells ship at the back and was instrumental in their stunning final quarter comeback.

3. Ben Wyer (Ratoath): Fast becoming the ‘ man marker’ in the Keegan Cup holders defence. Held Summerhill danger man Conor Frayne to a point as the champions marched to another final in Pairc Tailteann.

4 Harry Smyth (Ballivor): Always out in front of his man, broke up several Ultans attacks and showed a great willingness to help out his teammates as Ballivor made it back to a county final.

5. Daryl Phelan (Trim): The best player on the pitch in one of the most exciting games over the weekend. Great reading of the game and broke up many Simonstown attacks in that Premier Division 2 final win at HQ.

6. Derek Flynn (Ballinabrackey): A rock at the heart of the ‘Bracks’ defence all through the championship and gave another exhibition in their thrilling win over St. Michaels at Pairc Tailteann.

7 Paddy Connelly (Ballivor): Deployed as a sweeper in the John Rafferty/James McNally managed team. The dual star was to the fore and helped orchestrate that big win over St. Ultans.

8. Robert Burke (Trim): Fast becoming one of the best midfielders in the county. Bossed proceedings around the middle sector and chipped in with two points in their big semi final win over Kilmainham.

9 Liam Ferguson (Gaeil Colmcille): The Kells captain led by example and was involved in several of the winners second half scores as they set up a final date with Ratoath.

10: Seamus Mattimoe (Gaeil Colmcille): His pace and eight points had a big bearing on the outcome as Lar Wall’s charges qualified for the first county final in 29 years.

11. James McEntee (Curraha): The county man was in outstanding form scoring seven points as the ‘Ha’ retained their senior status and condemned Dunshaughlin to a relegation final at sunny Walterstown.

12 Colm Carry (Drumbaragh): His goal and seven had a big bearing on the outcome as the Drums retained their intermediate championship status at the expense of Castletown in Moynalty.

13 Jack Flynn (Ratoath): One of the real stars for Brian Farrell’s team on the resumption after the Covid-19 break. Three points from the strong attacker and has to be on the senior county management team’s radar.

14 Shane Walsh (Na Fianna): For 40 minutes the young star was the best player on the pitch and gave the Gaeil Colmcille rearguard numerous problems. Walsh finished with eight points.

15 Aaron Lynch (Trim): Once again outstanding in the Red and White. Some exceptional scores in his nine point tally and always willing to pass to a teammate in a better position.
