St Michaels Joe Duffy has his eyes fixed on the Kilbride goal in Carlanstown

St. Michaels  3-12, Kilbride 2-10 after extra time

It was a busy weekend for the young lads of St. Michaels as they played their second play-off in a week on Friday evening last in Carlanstown to qualify for the semi-final which was fixed for 10am on Sunday morning.

It was heart stopping stuff from the throw-in until Paul Mooney blew the final whistle at the end of extra time with both teams giving it their last ounce of energy.

Kilbride were a point to the good at the first water break 1-4 to 1-3 with Joe Duffy, CJ Lynch and Diarmuid O'Malley all getting on the scoreboard for the home side.

Kilbride stretched that lead to two points in the second quarter as only CJ Lynch managed to score for the St. Michaels side.

Sean Behan (0-3), Fionn Murray (1-0), and CJ Lynch (0-1) all hit the target in the second half with Behan's leveller coming on the stroke of full time to bring the match to extra time.

St. Michaels lived in the Kilbride half of the pitch in extra time with with points coming from Lynch and Murray but the crucial score came from Sean Behan when he blasted to the back of the net four minutes from time.
