Mayo county board chairman Liam Moffatt has dismissed rumours that any member of the Mayo senior football management team has stepped down.
Reports a fortnight ago suggested that team selector Ciarán McDonald was set to depart James Horan’s backroom team in the wake of the Westerners’ All-Ireland SFC final defeat to Tyrone on September 4th.
Speaking at last night’s county board meeting, Mr Moffatt dismissed those reports and any suggesting that a member of the Mayo management team had left their post.
“Nobody has stepped down from anything, everything will be clarified after the review,” he is quoted saying by Midwest Radio.
“We obviously have to give people time to come down from the season that they had.
“There’s no truth in the rumour that anybody is stepping down.”
He added: “Questions have to be asked, where have these rumours come from?”
