Ballyhaunis 1-15
Tooreen 1-12
Dual-star Keith Higgins sent over 0-9 and Jason Coyne scored the all-important goal as Ballyhaunis saw off Tooreen yesterday at Adrian Freeman Memorial Park to claim the Mayo SHC title.
Playing on their home turf, Tooreen were bidding for a four-in-a-row of TJ Tyrrell Cups. Shane Boland's goal three minutes from the break put the hosts in the driving seat at the interval, 1-7 to 0-7.
However, that was as good as it got for last year's Connacht intermediate champions as Ballyhaunis dominated the third quarter when they outscored them by 1-5 to 0-2 to get their hands on the silverware for the first time since 2016.
All involved with Ballyhaunis Senior Hurlers would like to say a big thanks to all who have supported us during this tough year! It was all worth it in the end ⚫️🔴 pic.twitter.com/Xvo2JlE3Tq
