Sheelan Cup: We got our season under on Monday night with a five point loss to our neighbours St. Josephs in Dromiskin.  We were unlucky to lose this match but we ran out of steam in the closing minutes of the game. The game was close, and was level on a number of occasions during the hour and it was only in the last couple of minutes that the home side sealed their victory. The lads played well for their first outing and now we play the Fechins on Thursday night in the Grove at 7.30pm.

Team: Cian Geeney; Keith Ryan, Conor Byrne, Jack Saddlier; Emmet Byrne 0-1, Stuart Osbourne, Conor Martin; Jackie Agnew, Sean Cairns; Dean Corrigan 1-0, David Hoey, Cian O’Dwyer; Paul McKeever, Robert Quigley 1-7(5f), Bernard Osbourne 1-0. Subs Dean Stanfield for C. Martin, Stuart Reynolds for C. Geeney, Liam Kiernan for C. O’Dwyer, Selam Rifaie for P. McKeever, Brendan Saddlier for B. Osbourne, Micheal Cairns for R. Quigley, Jamie Murphy for S. Rifaie.

GAA- Covid Update: Dressing Rooms For club games must remain closed. This is to ensure the risk of players or backroom personnel being classified as Close contacts is minimised. As in the summer of 2020, Players should arrive ready to warm-up and play and leave the ground once the relevant game is over.

Use of Gyms In broader society for individual training will be permitted from June 7th. However, the GAA are advising that club or county owned Gyms should remain closed for the moment, unless being used on an individual basis by players on a county panel. From July 5th in broader society it is likely that indoor training will be allowed to recommence in pods of up to 6 people. They will review the position on the use of Gyms at that point and provide further advice for clubs and counties in advance of July 5th. Club Bars from June 7th will be permitted to serve food and alcohol outdoors and in line with general guidance for the sector. From July 5th and subject to maintaining progress with the virus, indoor services in Bars and Restaurants may be allowed to resume.

Indoor meetings All Club and county meetings should continue to be held remotely until further notice. It is worth noting however that the Government have made provisions for indoor events to be allowed return from July 5th. However, these will be subject to a maximum of 50 attendees, in groups of up to 6 people and with arrangements in place to ensure no intermingling of groups. Again we will advise further in this context in advance of July 5th.
