Longford Slashers will face holders Killoe Emmet Og in the Covid-delayed 2020 Longford SFC final after edging out Mullinalaghta by 1-9 to 1-7 at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park last night.
Gerard Flynn's 56th minute goal proved all-important as the town side battled back from a 0-5 to 1-4 half-time deficit to set up a repeat of the 2019 Connolly Cup decider.
With former Cavan star Cian Mackey lining out at corner forward, 2018 Leinster champions Mullinalaghta got off to a dream start when Jayson Matthews netted inside the first minute. St Columba's continued to lead until Flynn's goal put Slashers 1-8 to 1-6 in front.
Matthews left the minimum in it before Sean Clarke sealed Slashers' place in the final against Killoe, who walloped Mostrim by 1-20 to 1-6 in the other semi-final on Saturday.
