Ballysteen GAA Club Notes (July 26)

Senior Football

Our senior footballers were in action twice over the last week, playing a pair of friendlies. Last Thursday, we met Claughaun on the Childers Road on a blisteringly warm evening. A slow start proved costly and despite a much improved second half, we fell to a 2-10 to 0-12 defeat, with a number of players absent for varying reasons.

TEAM: Jack Neville, Jason Daly, Pa Ranahan, Cillian Ferris, Luke Gammell, Shane Gallagher, Alan McGrath, Paudie McMahon, Sean Whelan, Sam Duggan, Darragh Ranahan, Tomas Sheahan, David O’Shaughnessy, Shane Hallinan, Paul O’Shaughnessy. Subs: Eoin Condon, Danny Neville, Darragh Leonard

On Saturday, we travelled to Clare to take on Lissycasey. Once again the hosts began brightest hitting two early goals. David O’Shaughnessy got his back into the game with a goal prior to the half and doubled his tally in the second from the penalty spot. A goal from Danny Neville gave us the lead late on but the hosts grabbed their third goal in the final minutes to take the win. A huge thanks to all in Lissycasey who offered refreshments after a competitive game.

TEAM: Jack Neville,  Jason Daly, Shane Gallagher, Eoin Condon, Alan McGrath, Pakie Moran, Luke Gammell, Pauide McMahon, James O’Meara, Tomas Sheahan, Darragh Ranahan, Sean Whelan, David O’Shaughnessy, Shane Hallinan, Paul O’Shaughnessy. Subs: John O’Shaughnessy, Danny Neville, Sam Duggan, Pakie Neville, Jamie Moran, Darragh Leonard, Glen O’Donnell.

Limerick Minor Football

Well done to Calum Ryan and Matt Moane who were a part of the Limerick minor football team that beat Tipperary 2-9 to 1-9 in the Munster quarter-final last week. They now face Clare in the semi-final this Friday evening. Best wishes to both.

Best of luck

Best of luck to all Limerick teams in action this week. On Tuesday, the minor hurlers are in Munster semi-final action against Cork and the following night, the U20 hurlers take on Cork in the Munster final. Best of luck to all players.
