West Junior A League

Glin 0-11

Feenagh-Kilmeedy 2-12

Our Junior B team made their return to league football after a couple of years in the wilderness last Wednesday evening in Glin. They were up against a very strong Feenagh-Kilmeedy side who had won the delayed 2020 Junior B championship only a number of days before. Our opponents had the better of the first half exchanges with some cleverly worked scores. Indeed it could have been worse but for two fantastic one-on-one saves from Stack in goals that kept us in the game.

In the second half we came more into the game, combining well to create better openings in the Feenagh defence with Ger Lyons and Paddy Fitzgerald kicking some fine points. In the end, it was a seven point defeat, but our lads can take a lot of positives from their first day out. This team with its blend of experience and youth has great potential, and we look forward to seeing them progress over the season. Next up is St. Senan's on Tuesday evening.

Team: Michael Stack, Edward Mulvihill, Tadhg Culhane, Kieran Scanlon, Tomás Woulfe, Paddy Fitzgerald, Padraig O'Connor, Paul Sheahan, Shane Culhane, Cian Culhane, Gary Culhane, Cormac Healy, Jack O' Neill, Ger Lyons and Fionn Henderson.
