Tony Fitzgerald RIP

Ballysteen GAA Club and its members send its deepest sympathy to the Fitzgerald family, Mantle Hill on the death of Tony.

Tony captained Ballysteen in 1964 to their first and only county senior football championship. He captained Limerick in the 1965 Munster football final when they went down to Kerry in the Gaelic Grounds. Tony went on to win 3 more county senior football championship finals with Askeaton in 1965, 1966 and 1972. He also played Railway Cup with Munster.

Limerick Minor Footballers

Congratulations to Padraic McMahon on being nominated as Vice Captain of the Limerick Minor Football Team for the upcoming Championship

campaign.

Limerick Leader Team Of the Year

Well done to Bill Casey & Danny Neville who were selected to the Limerick Leader Team of the Year for their performances throughout this years competition.

 

Intercounty Action

Best Wishes to Danny Neville & Limerick who are in National League action against Wexford this coming weekend. There's still plenty to play for with the chance of promotion for Billy Lee's men still viable.

Junior Football

Our Junior Footballers season came to an end at the Quarter Final stage against a very strong Adare side. Thanks to Alan & Shane for looking after the team for the season in what can only be described as trying circumstances.

CLUB Limerick Draw

No winners in the September edition of the CLUB Limerick Draw. Service to the Elderly
Ballysteen GAA along with Askeaton GAA & Askeaton/Ballysteen/Kilcornan Bord na nÓg GAA wish to offer our services to the eldery and the most vulnerable in our community during this current time and throughout the weeks ahead.
All three clubs are coming together to give back to our community that has supported us throughout good times and bad. We will be offering to help anyone who requires shopping, prescriptions, fuel etc to be collected on their behalf and delivered to their doorstep.
We will support local businesses to help keep our local community going. Listed below are our coordinators numbers. You can ring or text these numbers and we will organise assistance thereafter. Best hygiene practices will be used by our volunteers during the delivery of this service.
Thanks to everyone who is volunteering as part of this. Every little helps in the sustainment and sense of community amongst ourselves. Please remember to share this information to people who are not on Social Media so that they know this service is available.
