SEVEN COUNTY TITLES IN 13 YEARS!!!

County Senior Football Championship Final

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-9
Monaleen 2-7

This was a very tight game at half-time the champions led by 1-4 to 1-1, with the first half been not the best football being played by both sides but then in the second half to lived up to be a thriller of a half and two goals for Dromcollogher/ Broadford on the day came from Micheál Reidy and Killian Phair. The above club would like to congratulate the management team and Backroom Team led by Mike Fahy and the other members of the team are: Jerome Stack, Tommy Stack, Garry Noonan, Jim Barry, Christine McCarthy, Jimmy Lacey and Colm Meaney and First aid: Bridget Downes and also the excellent group of players led by Micheál Reidy Captain and the very best of luck in the Munster Club Championship.

Monaleen scored an early goal coming from Darragh Bonfil with 3 minutes gone in the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with the next three points to bring sides back on level for the first time during the game and these points came from Dee O'Leary, Killian Phair and Micheál Reidy. Ger Collins of Monaleen pointed his first free to Monaleen back into the lead again and then Killian Phair replied with his own pointed free to leave sides on level terms for the second time during the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford then then the lead for the first time in the game through a penalty scored by Micheál Reidy about Micheál Brosnan was fouled in the square with 29 minutes gone in the game at this stage we lead by three. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-4 to Monaleen 1-1.

Graham O'Connell scored the next point for a pointed free for Monaleen to reduce the margin to two points and then Derry McCarthy scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to put three between the sides once again. Ger Collins of Monaleen then but it back to two points again before the goal of the game came from Killian Phair it was some finish from the boot of Killian Phair to give us the lead by five points with 43 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points to lead by seven points and these points came from Killian Phair and Patrick Donnelly and then Ger Collins replied with another point to leave six points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point coming from Patrick Donnelly to leave seven points between the sides once again and then Monaleen scored the next three points and these points came from Michael Crowley, Padraig Quinn and Muiris Gavin to leave four points between the sides. Ger Collins of Monaleen scored a penalty with 54 minutes gone in the game to leave a point between the sides and then Garrett Noonan man of the match scored the last point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to seal victory for number seven in 13 years.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 71st draw took place on last Monday Night October 21st, in Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 6, 9, 16 and 32, there was no winner of jackpot at €8300 and there was no winner of match 3 at €100 and the 2 lucky dips winners of €50 each were: Jim Long, Feenagh and Alan Cussen, Broadford and the next draw takes place on Monday October 28th, in Nunan's Bar, Dromcollogher, with the jackpot going up to €8400 (win or share) and with the match three going up at €150 (win or share). Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

4 Mile Fun Run/ Walk

The above club are holding a 4 Mile Fun Run/ Walk (Carnival Road Race Course), Registration at the GAA Clubhouse, Dromcollogher from 11am, entry free €10 & €5 (Cash Prizes for 1st Lady, Gent & Juvenile and other novelty prizes), on Sunday November 10th 2013, at 12.30pm. Sympathy

To Buckley Family of Knocktoosh (Broadford) on death of Molly Buckley, Seanie, Liam, and Conor all grandsons of late Molly are playing for the above club at present, may Molly rest in peace.
