The clash between Padraig Pearses and Mountbellew-Moylough at Dr Hyde Park has been called off

This weekend’s Connacht club senior football championship semi-final between Padraig Pearses (Roscommon) and Mountbellew-Moylough (Galway) has been called off due to a Covid outbreak.

The two county champions were set to cross swords at Dr Hyde Park on Sunday afternoon, with the winners facing either Knockmore of Mayo or Sligo’s Tourlestrane in the western province’s final.

The Connacht Council is set to convene tonight to fix a new date for the game and it’s expected that it will be rescheduled for the following weekend.

Pearses and Mountbellew-Moylough are bidding for their first Connacht senior title, with the Roscommon champions having lost out to the mighty Corofin in the 2019 decider.

Last weekend saw Mountbellew-Moylough winning their first ever Connacht club SFC clash after defeating Leitrim counterparts Ballinamore Sean O’Heslins 0-16 to 2-8 last weekend.
