Leitrim SFC final: Beirne leads Mohill to title

Keith Beirne scored 0-9 as Mohill delivered a strong second-half showing to see off St Mary's Kiltoghert in the Leitrim SFC final at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada this afternoon.
Liam Keenan's charges trailed by 0-5 to 0-6 at the interval after Alan Doherty edged St Mary's to the front on the stroke of half-time. But Mohill significantly up the tempo on the restart, seven unanswered scores in the third quarter propelled them 0-12 to 0-6 clear.
St Mary's stemmed the tide with points from Nicholas McWeeney and Paul Keaney (2) but time was running out and they badly needed a goal. Instead, Mohill were able to close out the contest with Beirne adding two more points.
