Conor Phelan has been named as part of Brian Cody’s backroom team with the Kilkenny senior hurlers.
With DJ Carey stepping aside, Cody has been quick to find a replacement.
Phelan is a former county player who was part of the Kilkenny squad during the 2003 All-Ireland win.
He was forced to retire from senior intercounty hurling on medical grounds but did continue to play with his club.
He has managed Ireland squads in the Shinty/Hurling internationals against Scotland.
TweetKilkenny GAA wishes to announce that Conor Phelan of @ClaraGAA will be joining the Kilkenny senior hurling management team for the 2021 season.
