Dessie Farrell was already looking towards the Leinster SFC final against Kildare following Dublin's dismissal of Meath yesterday.

The Lilywhites have already beaten Dublin this year in the Allianz League and will travel to Croke Park for the provincial final with "very high expectations", according to the Dubs boss.

"Job done today, and we'll look forward to a massive step up in the challenge that awaits us in two weeks' time. There's a huge momentum around Kildare football at the minute," Farrell said in an interview with RTÉ.

"The management team in place are huge favourites for all Kildare supporters; icons of the game. There's great spirit, energy and passion around the team now.

"They've beaten us in the league in Newbridge. They looked comfortable that day and were deserving winners, so they'll be coming to Croke Park in two weeks with very high expectations and we need to rise to that challenge."

Reflecting on his side's 13-point victory over the Royals, Farrell said: "We're pleased with the performance.

"From our point of view, with the National League we had, it's good to put back-to-back performances together. The consistency throughout the 70-odd minutes, on both occasions, was good.

"We stepped off a little bit in the second half today but overall I'm happy."
