Jack O’Connor's third coming as Kerry senior football manager got off to a comfortable winning start in Austin Stack Park, Tralee last night (Wednesday).

A strong Kingdom starting 15 enjoyed a 23-point McGrath Cup Group B victory over the Shannonsiders with All-Star brothers Paudie and David Clifford raising green flags in the opening period.

The game was only five minutes old when Paudie pounced for his team’s first goal while full-forward David added a second six minutes later.

The scoreboard 2-13 to 0-3 in favour of O’Connor’s charges at the halfway stage.

Debutant Stefan Okunbor also impressed in the middle of the field before being withdrawn during the interval.

Next up for the winners is a trip to Tipperary next Wednesday evening.
