Padraic Joyce is set for another three years in charge of Galway’s senior footballers after being proposed for a new term by the county board management last night.

This past season saw Joyce steer the Tribesmen towards their first All-Ireland SFC final appearance since 2001, losing out in the decider to Kerry in July.

Galway also captured the Connacht crown this year before going on to defeat Armagh and Derry respectively to return to Gaelic football’s biggest stage.

The Tribesmen are also set to play their league football in Division 1 next season after earning promotion during Joyce’s third year in charge.

Elsewhere in Galway, Donal Ó Fátharta and Alan Glynn have been handed one-year extensions to their posts as U20 and minor football managers, respectively.
