Replying To Thelongwoodslasher:  "100%.....the recent bit of "success" at minor is masking a load of problems...not least of which is our competition structure., This has only recently been overhauled , and the jury is out still on that. I believe that the fall back ln the schools is a big big problem, and its a problem of 20-25 years or more. The lack of presence at Sigerson , is without doubt the single biggest indicator that we are not "converting" or transitioning ....By a country mile is Keoghan, and Menton are best Inter county Players ...and yet year in year out we celebrate the arrival of the next "star"......the heads are blown on these kids before they have even wet their beaks at adult club level , never mind county"
Its not unique to Meath, I hear the same complaints where I now live and imagine same issues are thrown up in other counties. There seems to be plenty of work going on at underage and we have seen several lads come through and show lots of potential. After watching the league match between ourselves and Dublin a couple of years ago and the freedom, confidence and lack of fear the young lads showed on the night gave me hope for the future. I know it was a match with little at stake but the talent was there. Move forward a few years and that spark has gone. What has happened to them? Look frustrated and almost disinterested, not one of the recent additions has fullfilled their potential.

Replying To LeitrimRoyal99:  "I hope you're right but I don't get where your faith in the level of talent in Meath is coming from. Consistently poor at under 20. Not many guys making an impact on good Sigerson teams. Poor schools teams. Our clubs do very poorly in the Leinster senior club. We have some young guys who could turn into very good players but so far haven't shown indications that they will. Again I really hope I'm wrong and that under a new management the players flourish but all the indicators I see don't point that way"
Exactly. But some people want to bury head in sand. And blame management, Will they blame next one too ? And the one after that ?

RD aren't you realistically "some people"??

As i said yesterday you told us all we had the players and management to beat Dublin last month. Whats changed in the intervening time frame. You laughed at me when i told you the Dubs would hammer us and we're barely, if even a top 16 team anymore.

Since then you've changed your tune and its all the players fault. You've hammered people for the last week about the abuse Andy got and claimed that people on here being critical of the product on the field as abusing Andy.

That's extremely hypocritical of you RD. Are you not now turning that around and abusing the players and blaming them for everything? Why is it ok for you to blame the players and not have it considered as "abuse"? Are you not now abusing 30+ players who give up their time and energy for the good of Meath this year for no reward.

There's plenty of blame to go round everyone from us as supporters, the county board, management and yes the players too.

Be careful how you word things, you claim people on here abused Andy and then go and basically abuse the players yourself.

Brian. Really man ur obsession with my good self is getting worrying. Look I'll leave you to it. Tbh I can't keep up with the amount of times you reply with same old same old rehashed in a different disguise. And something jinxy pointed out before also rings true. So good luck to you. But for my own head I won't be responding to any posts for awhile. Keep well.

Interesting to see it took you well over a week to respond and then not answer any of the hard questions posed to you RD. But sure isn't that true to your form.

I must get on to this fella that posts on here regularly and see if this rings true... " I will Come after EVERY troll, faceless cowardly keyboard warrior that there is. If anyone has a problem with that come see me at a match. But they won't. Cause as I said. Cowards is all they are.

You're well able to throw out loose accusations that people abused Andy McEntee (which no one on here denied) but then turn around and say 30+ lads who put in a huge amount of work and say they're just not good despite blowing them up in recent months. As always you can't debate a point and respond with a coherent argument when confronted with the tough questions. All good posters (Joe, Leitrim, Longwood and many others) on here are well able to have a discussion, respectfully debate and see others points and respond without acting like a bold child.

You tried this obsession line with lads on the national threads and like there you've made a laughing stock of yourself again. Funny thing though is you're the lad who follows me on Twitter, so who's obsessed.
