Does anyone see the reasoning behind the 1b, 2a, and 3b finals not being held in pairc tailteann? A little bit odd considering some of the lower grades were held there last week. I also see syddan's premier team is fixed to play their game an hour before their first teams league final on Sunday, absolutely comical.

Look at Trim, They have 4 games this week 2 in each code, not including the Div 7 game they have, Fixtures is an absolute joke

Dunshaughlin will be absolutely fuming at themselves. They were much the better team for most of the game and Trim didn't play particularly well for the first 50 mins. Then the last 10 they were out scored 1-5 to 0-1. That'll be a blow to their confidence as they are the most talented team in intermediate but if a Rathkenny or an Oldcastle could get them into a really close game they'd fancy themselves to get over the line

Wouldn't disagree with that analysis. Hopefully we can stay the distance from here.

I was at Kildalkey and Trim yesterday, tough physical game, and I could count at least 10 of those Trim lads that will be playing on Tuesday in the football league. County board need to put dual players welfare to the fore, but that would make too much sense!"
It definitely looks like we should go back to the traditional club football championship start in April. Hurling championship start in June. Spread out the season. It's an absolute shambles for a dual player. Injuries everywhere.

Absolutely not, that was a terrible format and I would imagine you will be hard to find any players that would agree with it. The current championship format is probably the best, its the leagues that now need to be altered slightly, in football bring all divisions down to 10 teams, and in the hurling all they had to do was start it earlier than they did, I think it was a few weeks after the football starting this year (but I could be wrong on that)

Tough few weeks ahead for small, dual clubs, the likes of Longwood and Boardsmill. 9 weeks of championship on the trot ahead of them with small squads.

At least for the likes of Trim and Ratoath, the senior football doesn't start for another while.

Credit to Trim also for pulling this one out of the fire. The benefit of having a consistent free taker like Aaron Lynch cant be underestimated.

Taking Dunshaughlin as a yardstick the Trim Navan O'Mahonys tie in the SFC will be a close one. And there is the added spice of two ex Meath full backs managing teams against their home clubs!

Div 1 now looks like it will have a very interesting final round in store. Summerhill and St Colmcilles on 14pts and Ratoatha dn Skryne on 13pts all able to qualify for the final, and St Colmcilles and Skryne playing each other, while Ratoath and Summerhill play Simonstown and Na Fianna, two teams that will need a win to guaranteed Div 1 football next season.
At the other end, O Mahoneys are already relegated but the final relegation spot is able to be taken by up to 4 teams, with the Bracks on 7, Simonstown and Na Fianna on 8 and Kells on 9. A win for the Bracks against Kells will put them ahead of them on head to head but it is unlikely to matter as the other two teams as mentioned are playing teams fighting for a spot in the final so you would imagine it is unlikely that they both win.

Either way its probably been the most competitive and interesting Div 1 for the last number of years, the game last night between Skryne and Ratoath already with a championship atmosphere and feel to it.
