Dunderry Footballers & Hurlers Having To Play 2 Finals On Consecutive Days.

(Oldest Posts First)

Can't believe that the County Board have Fixtures 2 finals for Dunderry on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. They play Premier FC Div3 against Drumconrath on Saturday then play Kildalkey in the Billy Byrne Final on Sunday. There are at least 8 dual players involved in both, a total disgrace by the County Board Wouldn't see it happen to any of the bigger clubs. Think the County Board need to cop onto themselves and give clubs a fair deal

Could be worse, Trim have Junior football and Bredan Davis hurling final 2 hours apart on the sunday. I know they asked to swap with dunderry juniors but the fixture wouldnt hear of any changes .

Sure just give a walkover in the hurling. It's only Meath hurling and meath intermediate hurling at that. Who cares..

Why didn't they play the game last week, sure both intermediate teams were out of the championship. The Fixture committee are there to work with and facilitate clubs. This is the last game for both, surely they can get a time to suit both and common sense prevails.

Trim asked to play 2 games at the same time, Brendan Davis final and Div 8 premier final both this Sunday , fixtures committee should be ashamed

Fixtures are a bit of a joke, u20/21 Fixtures for the first 3 weekend in December, how do the county champions fit into this arrangement with all the Leinster club games coming up

Trim full back in hurling semi final is also key member of division 7 footballers at centre forward. Trim told they can move the hurling to 2.15pm from 2pm to accommodate him. Absolutely disgraceful treatment

So play what amounts to a Junior H football game or save himself for a senior league final. I think I know where the priority should lie for that young man. Obviously shouldn't be in that situation but there are only so many weekends left in the year.

So just leave a team he has committed to all year long to play their final without him?
Fixture planners making a bags of things and players paying the consequences, Brendan Davis final pair was confirmed since before championship began and this junior final pair confirmed over a month ago

What about Dundery's opposition? Committed all year and have ther chance of a trophy taken away because of poor fixtur makin. Hardly fair on them either. It's two different sports - clubs shuld'nt be allowed to just throw away fixtures.

Well the simple argument there is that why should one club have an imposed disadvantage placed on them purely because they play both codes. I dont see why the hurling fixtures cant have been fixed for dunganny or Trim Midweek though, if clubs want their memorial cups ran off they should understand that theres a risk they will be played this time of the year and should have the facilities to cater them or make other arrangements.
