Not too many on here will remember MIck. A small man but a hurling giant. Minor All-Ireland medal in 1948 and senior in 1959. Something like 25 county medals. May he rest in peace.

I remember him in '59- what a mighty player and part of a superb Half Forward line with Cheasty and Walsh. May they all be reunited in heavenly peace tonight.

How many of that 1959 team are still with us Canuck? I was just a kid that year, no television then, and limited radio coverage in those times. May he rest in peace.

About three. I think Martin Og Morrissey, Joe Condon and Larry Guinan are still with us.

I remember him indeed, Canuck. A fast and skillful player like his colleague on the other wing, Frankie Walsh. I didn't see the 1959 final, drawn or replay, but I remember being delighted for Waterford, who by all accounts had been very unlucky in the '57 final. I saw Mick in the 1963 final, when he was part of an ageing but brilliant forward line that put six goals past Ollie Walsh and still lost!

A kid also listening to it on the radio. I am not sure anymore. I think Martin Og Morrissey and Larry Guinnan are. I know Johnny O'Connor is. Austin Flynn died this year also.

Is Joe Condon still alive?

Not sure Oldtourman. Most of them I kept track of and know not many left.

Joe Condon played at left half back in both games in '59. I just checked it out in the H/S Waterford Profile. I think he was captain in '63.
