How many is that now enough to call it an epidemic? Maroonatic (Galway) - Posts: 1060 - 04/09/2021 16:04:39 2377786 Link 1 |
Who are you replying to when you say "blaming the Irish", are you saying Irish anti vaxxers should be treated differently or that they are above criticism ? Irish anti vaxxers are no different than English anti vaxxers, it doesn't matter where they are from, they are all being used by nut jobs on social media to spread their lies. Don't think because the Delta originated in India that other variants wont emerge somewhere else as they have done and will continue to do helped along the way by those who have no credible reason for not getting vaccinated. They tell everyone else not to be afraid of getting Covid while they themselves are terrified to get vaccinated ! AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 04/09/2021 20:05:41 2377824 Link 1 |
Spot on. . They wear the "I trust my immune system" badge when it suits them. . But dont trust their immune system to react positively to vaccination. I've noticed they also use the "my body, my choice" slogan despite masses of them being opposed to what that slogan actually represents. In truth they should just cut the smoke and mirrors and wear the "I care about me and nobody else" banner and be done with it. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5012 - 06/09/2021 10:24:18 2378132 Link 5 |
I wish I could return the compliment and say that you're well versed in anything but after reading some of your comments unfortunately I can't. You're the fella who by your own admission has no county but you spend a lot of time loitering around the "Kerry room", not a great choice for a spoofer and it didn't take the likes of the Hermit long to cop you on and put you in your box. You hadn't a clue who Joe O'Connor was and that was even after talking to your so called contact in Tralee, clearly another spoofer. And you have the cheek to use the words "scant, infantile and abysmal" ! You reckoned you saw Mike Frank destroy the opposition in the Kerry Senior Championship final in 1989, some achievement for a 12 year old! I have forgotten more about "Matters Gaelic"than you'll ever know and have won more as a player and a coach than you could ever imagine. Who even uses such and outdated phrase as "matters Gaelic". If you think telling us all about some fella who played back in 1946 or spewing out a few lines from "The Field" makes you an expert on "matters Gaelic", then you are no different than the other narrowbacks I used to meet hanging around West 240th on Sundays. Full of useless information that only mitherers like yourself think is important. The only right decision you made was ignoring my posts because you know I don't suffer fools gladly but now you're in the spiders web. Abortion supporters in Texas have abandoned "my body my choice" actually :-) Same great believers in science who think an unborn child is a foreign body, and that men can decide on a whim to be women... Think i know which side is the rational one. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2554 - 06/09/2021 20:35:01 2378355 Link 4 |
Yes of course, you are pro life as long as it's not some elderly person "who was going to die at some point anyway". How hypocritical is that. For some people their freedom to swill beer is more important than protecting their parents or grandparents etc. But of course you'll never get old. I am old! Pointing out that very old people are more likely to die is not the same as wanting them to die. e BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2554 - 08/09/2021 19:00:05 2378867 Link 3 |
Then you confirm what studies have shown that older people spread more fake news because they lack skills to determine veracity of online news. You should have told us earlier so that we could have made allowances for you. ">link AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 09/09/2021 11:25:10 2379008 Link 0 |
I doubt if you would like to get into a academic/skills peeing competition old chap. Stick to the ad hominem stuff. More your level. Any references I have made have been to official statistics, court decisions and scientific peer reviewed research. The demographics of and the mortality numbers are not "fake news." They are facts. AG is closing in on you, like a cat playing with a mouse before he goes in for the kill. The Spanish Supreme Court decision had nothing to do with how much a health threat Covid is. If you read it you would know that. AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 09/09/2021 16:23:52 2379123 Link 0 |
The whole point of the Spanish judgement is that there are no legal grounds for vaccination passports because there is no evidence that excluding unvaccinated punters prevents transmission. So, if you did read it, which i very much doubt, you did not understand it. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2554 - 09/09/2021 17:18:12 2379144 Link 0 |
Oh I read it alright, don't worry about that and if you were able to interpret it correctly you defiantly wouldn't have mentioned it because all it does is confirm what we already know and actually it gives a green light for further lockdowns if needed, which is something you don't believe in.

I'm confused, I'm my office there are 12 staff. 8 vaccinated. The 4 unvaccinated staff are the only ones who haven't been ill with covid. I guess we are just very lucky! realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8591 - 09/09/2021 20:21:30 2379173 Link 3 |
All I can say on this topic is if you're not vaccinated please just get vaccinated for your own sake. Whammo86 (Antrim) - Posts: 4221 - 10/09/2021 19:55:00 2379460 Link 3 |
I dislike accusing people of making things up, so i will give you the benefit of the doubt. Others might be taken in by your long winded deliberately convoluted quote heavy diatribes, but not old Barney! Pretty good report on judgement here. Including reference to spurious health justifications. https://walls-work.org/spains-supreme-court-rules-against-using-vaccine-passports-to-restrict-access-to-public-spaces-newswars/?utm_source=fb_page&utm_medium=Walls-Work.org&utm_campaign=publer Not one mainstream Irish news site reported it. "Economic considerations may have also played a part in the courts' decision. Spain's hospitality sector generates a huge amount of money and a huge number of jobs, especially during the peak tourist season (i.e., right now)" The court decision had nothing to do with how dangerous or not the virus is, it ruled on vaccine passports that's all and similar challenges have been thrown out in other courts. All it does is give the Government the green light to close premises completely if wish rather than have a phased reopening, should the situation go out of control again. It's irrelevant if you have a vaccine passport or not if a business is closed so it's not surprising that there wasn't much in the mainstream about it because it's a non story really. Denmark is more or less back to normal thanks to a high uptake on vaccination while Ireland is still lagging behind due to having still a high infection rate thanks to the outlier of Northern Ireland and a those in border areas who are hesitant to get vaccinated. So it's clear who the people are who are holding Ireland back. AfricanGael (UK) - Posts: 1947 - 11/09/2021 14:13:17 2379603 Link 0 |
The court decision did refer to the health aspects: BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 2554 - 11/09/2021 20:28:58 2379736 Link 1 |
