I see that the first round of the football championships are fixed for the same weekend as Laois and Westmeath hurling league relegation playoff, what will be the outcome with numerous clubs impacted such as the downs and killucan ?

Either one will be rescheduled I would imagine & if not I would think players would rather play championship with the club than a relegation playoff with the county

St Lomans in senior, Castledaly in intermediate and Bunbrosna in junior will all be favourites but all 3 will be hard to call and we won't know how teams are really going till after round 2 I'd say.

Tang beat Castledaly by six points in league recently. They'll go one better than last year. The Downs to win Junior, Loman's senior.

Can't see pass St Lomans for the senior. Serious talent within their panel. Intermediate seems wide with Tang, Mpass and Castledaly all prob the favourites. Bunbrosna have got to be favourites for the junior but with a team which has age against them, the downs or Lomans could be in with a shout

Lomans for senior. If Castledaly don't go straight back up it's a travesty. By far the best squad and they have a serious management team in there. Dolan showing great for with the county too. Junior unfortunately will be won by one of the Senior clubs.

Relegation will be more interesting. Possibly Caulry dropping down and potentially Kilbeggan or Milltown from the intermediate even though they'd both be better than Ballymore at the moment.

Lomans / Tang / Bun for me.
Based on results to date Shamrocks could be under serious pressure to stay senior. Sheedy has a big task ahead of him.

Lomans for senior, the Downs with a decent chance of unseating them.
Tang all the way for intermediate.
Junior is between Bunbrosna and a couple of the senior second teams, none of the other junior clubs at the races here, Ballinagore the best of the rest of them.

Castledaly will be intermediate for a good while, I don't agree with your assessment of their squad, Dolan a serious operator but over reliant on him. Also don't see how you rate their management so highly, not premium by any stretch of imagination.

Lomans for senior I agree with, but not a hope of Castledaly winning the intermediate , their squad is aging and managment is weak in my opinion , Tang v Milltownpass final I reckon. Malachys next best. Kilbeggan will go down and I can see a senior second team winning the Junior.

Who are Castledaly's management team?

Sheridan fella who won a junior and was involved in ladies football is the manager. While I agree the manager is not a big name they will still win the intermediate. They are not an aging team and I don't think they would even have a player over 30/31 this year. Tang and mpass don't come close to a spine of Holloway, stone, fergal hynes and Lorcan dolan. Stronger keeper too. Big shock if they don't win it out

An absolute shambles. County board should be ashamed. I was out of the country for the past 2 weekends and logged on to try and see some league results and nothing! Results and tables not being updated or days behind when they are, no reports or news! In this day and age it's a disgrace that you have to buy a local newspaper to get this information. All the social media platforms that's out there and we still in the dark ages! This website is a great platform and neither the county or the clubs take advantage of it. When you see the way some other counties like Meath utilise it, fixtures posted clearly 2 weeks in advance, results and tables posted as they come in, clubs providing news and match reports and all done virtually as it happens! Why can't we follow suit and promote our clubs and teams

Call me crazy but I think Ballycomoyle could be in with a shout at Junior though it all depends on how the local hurling clubs get on as they are very reliant on small ballers. If they get Tommy Doyle kicking ball it will help and they also have Derek McNicholas back so I'd give them a chance, maybe not winning it but they could cause an upset or two. A (predicted) win against CFCW in the opening round will put the wind in their sails as they say.

Lomans set to be without John heslin for first 3 rounds due to injury meaning him missing games against the downs kinnegad and tpass. They will struggle without him because let's face it Lomans are an average enoigh side without him with exceptions to O'Toole and mccartan.

Lomans without Heslin are still a formidable outfit. Dempsey is back this year & TJ Cox was top scorer in all there league games. Add O'Toole & the 2 McCartans to that attack & its a serious team with or without Heslin. Very hard to see them being stopped although i fancy Garrycastle to have a big say in things.
