Replying To Viking66:  "Ah yes no doubt we arent where we were before Liam Dunne took over. And I agree Davy going wouldnt be the end of the world. But we are short on top local born managers at the minute. Even some of the senior clubs have looked outside the county. Be interesting to see how Martin Storey gets on with the Taghmon hurlers at intermediate. By all accounts he is very old school in his approach. Not too many of the 96 lads seem to have gone into management. If we look outside the county there arent too many proven senior intercounty managers looking for jobs. A few of the Kilkenny lads from the noughties have enjoyed a little success, Shefflin, Carey, Fennelly and Brennan, but none are proven at intercounty level and how would they manage a Wexford team against Kilkenny? A team we are going to meet every year with the round robin returning. And that's if we'd have a Kilkenny man at the helm at all which most supporters wouldn't want. I suppose a big part of me is thinking with Davy there, and ignoring 2020, we have been so very close to winning all the games we have lost the last 3 years. If we change manager and system now will it take a few years to adjust? Clare have won nothing since he left for example."

Replying To CC2020:  "With regards to a Kilkenny manager you'd be surprised how professional people can be. We have instances like Andy Farrell frequently managing against his son in rugby.

And if not an internal manager you could attract managers from other hurling counties. I know success hasn't been great with Meyler from Cork and Cyril Farrell in 1992."

Replying To Canuck:  "Like Davy or dislike him there are certain things that can not be denied about him. Firstly he was an excellent goal tender and inspirational leader during his playing days. He had success with a young Clare team winning an All-Ireland. Until Lohan does that, Davy holds the high ground. He took Waterford to an All-Ireland final after getting hammering in Munster. Davy won the Leinster tittle with Wexford after a long absence and has made them a respectable team. A pretty good resume.

Any man not standing up for his dad would not be worth his salt. However he has let himself down with the platforms he uses to do this. People now shut off with his ranting and raving and he gets judged on that rather than on his accomplishments.

Wexford will move on because that is what they always have done. They may have lapses like many of the chasing pack but their ability to play this game is unquestionably. I think and hope they will build on what they have got this time. If not using one of their own Derek McGrath would be a good fit. They would treat him better than some in Waterford."

Replying To Bon:  "I've always wondered would Pat Fitzgerald not be better off just stepping down for the greater good. Its never good in any job for the one person to hold that position for eternity, look at Frank Murphy how long he was with Cork. Its not healthy for anybody.
Davy on the other hand can be the architect of his own downfall at times, he's a guy I admire hugely and the game would be worse without him involved somewhere.
I've always thought if somebody like Donal O Grady could be coaxed into the wexford setup. A proven guy with incredible appetite and emthuaisim for the game. He's a top hurling man in my opinion."
