Inertia reigns, even when there would be less resistence in 2021 to try something new. Look - I think they did well with the County/Club season split - I like it - but the AI SFC format is still a mess - don't like the League Championship 5-3-1-1 KO proposal at all - and it might just be voted in because there is momentum to change to "anything else." Inspired by your 8-8-16 idea - how about after the 4x8 NFL (in 2022 and beyond), have NFL bottom 0-2-5-5 to AIC Rd 1; top 4-2-0-0 to Rd 3; and the rest to Rd 2 (that is 6-14-12). omahant (USA) - Posts: 2535 - 11/05/2021 20:42:09 2341169 Link 1 |

There's plenty to criticise the GAA on but they actually have implemented significant recent changes to both of their flagship competitions. NFL groups of 4 with unbalance within each div and re-implementation of the old stale AI structure ? I want a decent League Championship going forward = maybe 6 NFL divs (1 to 6, of 5,6,5,5,6,5 teams) leading to AIC = gives more teams a chance of winning silverware. 5-team divs play round robin and those teams also play the 6-team div, one level above or below - for a 10-match schedule for all - 1 up, 1 down. AIC = bottom 0-0-1-3-4-4 to Rd 1; top 4-2-0-0-0-0 to Rd 3; and 14 others to Rd 2. Provs played as stand alone. omahant (USA) - Posts: 2535 - 12/05/2021 02:44:47 2341201 Link 1 |
OR, just a conventional 3 NFL divs of 12, 10, 10 (3 up / 3 down). omahant (USA) - Posts: 2535 - 13/05/2021 05:04:07 2341385 Link 0 |
