Cork Goalkeeper Micheal Martin

(Oldest Posts First)

Is the Cork football goalkeeper the son of the Taoiseach Micheal Martin. Brought off some great saves against Kerry. Could be a future All Star. Would he have a safer pair of hands than the auld man?

Can't be easy on the poor lad. Looks a good keeper. As a father I'm sure Michael senior was a proud dad last night. At the end of the day a lot of our top politicians are staunch gaa men.. ends kenny before him, Brian Cowan, you can go back the whole way to jack lynch.if cork get to a final I wonder would Michael Martin let a few spectators into it.

It's the biggest sport in Ireland so chances are a lot of our TDs played and support GAA and the ones that don't will pretend to cause they ain't stupid.

I'm sure there is the odd exception where being stuck up about GAA plays to your audience

Mícheál Martin (goalie) grandfather was a champion boxer and uncle was a top footballer with Nemo in 70s. These are Mícheál (Taoiseach) father and brother. His (Taoiseach) uncle was a soccer coach in England (in some professional club) one time I seem to remember hearing about. They are a sporty family.
