Spare A Thought For Departed GAA Fanatics.

(Oldest Posts First)

Here it is May 5th and I just found out that a great school friend of mine (R.I.P. John Lane) passed away back in Late January. I lost track of him for 25 years and reconnected on Facebook Messenger. We went back and forth for a couple of years about old school friends that died and Galway Hurling. The guy ate and slept Galway Hurling. It didn't matter whether it was Seniors or local U-14s it was the same passion from him.

I messaged him 2 days ago asking why he hadn't posted lately.

Last December I went to Galway Regional Hospital to visit another friend who since passed away too (R.I.P.) and I didn't realize that John Lane was in the hospital too or I could have nipped in and seen him. I guess he died a month later.

If there's a next life and there's Hurling there he will be heavily involved. R.I.P.
