Derrygonnelly Harps advanced to the Ulster club senior football championship final tonight after making their early goals count against Armagh counterparts Clann Eireann.
It finished 3-11 to 1-11 at Kingspan Breffni, where the Fermanagh kingpins registered all three of their majors in the opening 13 minutes to rock their opponents.
Shane McGullion (2) and Conall Jones supplied the goals that surged Derrygonnelly towards a commanding 3-2 to 0-1 lead by the first water break.
Points from Dan McCarthy and Donal Magee at the other end helped cut the deficit down to 3-5 to 0-4 by half time for Clann Eireann, as they were still left with a mountain to climb.
Derrygonnelly would suffer a set-back just before the interval when midfielder Stephen McGullion picked up a second caution and their opponents would battle back in the second-half.
Conor McConville 44th minute goal gave Tommy Coleman's men a lifeline and a hat-trick of points from county man Conor Turbitt were backed up by Jack Conlon sailing over to reduce the margin to four.
However, the sending off of Sean McCarthy seemed to halt Clann Eireann’s momentum for the closing stages and Derrygonnelly held out for a first Ulster club SFC final berth where they await the winners of tomorrow’s crunch clash between Glen (Derry) and Kilcoo (Down).
