Stephen McGullion's extra-time goal sealed another memorable victory for Derrygonnelly over the Tyrone champions in a gripping Ulster club SFC quarter-final at Carrickmore today.

The Fermanagh kingpins are the first team through to the last-four after beating Dromore by 1-16 to 0-13 - Sean Flanagan's side were magnificent throughout having played the final 20 minutes of normal-time with 14-men following the sending off of defender Declan Cassidy on a second yellow card. The New York Cup holders defeated Red Hand representatives Trillick on this stage two years ago after a penalty shoot-out and will now face either Creggan or Clann Eireann for a place in the provincial decider.

At Pairc Colmcille, a late, late free from the outside of the boot by Derrygonnelly full-forward Conall Jones (0-6) took the game into extra-time, with the sides level on 0-10 each, after substitute Andrew McGrath looked to have stole it for St Dympna's, but the visitors got the job done in the extra 20 minutes.

With Ryan Jones and goalscorer McGullion bossing midfield, a wind-assisted Derrygonnelly led by 0-7 to 0-4 as the sides changed ends for the first time. Points by Ryan and Eoin McCusker had Dromore back on level terms by the 41st minute but Collie McCullagh's men were unable to capitalise on their numerical advantage.

A Ronan McNabb point saw the Tyrone winners regain the lead at the start of extra-time. Back with their full compliment of players, it was Derrygonnelly who then kicked for home when taking a 0-15 to 0-11 advantage into the break before McGullion fisted to the net to set them on their way.

Both sides finished with 14-men after referee Martin McNally showed Conall Jones and Colm O’Neill second yellow cards.
