Former Donegal star Colm McFadden has joined Sligo senior footballers as the team’s forwards coach for the 2023 season.

An All-Ireland SFC winner with the Tir Chonaill men in 2012, McFadden was top scorer in the competition that year and also won three Ulster titles in his county’s colours along with a National League and an All-Star award.

Sligo GAA confirmed the news that he would be joining Tony McEntee's backroom team in the Yeats County by tweeting yesterday: “Colm McFadden is to work next year with @sligogaa senior footballers as a forwards coach. An All Star and Footballer of the Year nominee for his contributions to Donegal’s 2012 All-Ireland victory. He will start to work with the Sligo players in January.”

The St Michael’s has also recently joined Leo McLoone’s backroom team with the Donegal U20s and is set to combine both roles next season.
