The 2020 Donegal SFC final saga involving Naomh Conaill and Kilcar took another twist today.

The deferred decider which finally took place last month following three postponements due to the enforced Covid-19 lockdown, with holders Naomh Conaill winning after a penalty shoot-out, was set to be replayed after an objection from Kilcar that their opponents had used more than the permitted number of substitutes allowed in extra-time.

But the controversy surrounding last year's Dr Maguire Cup final continues to rumble on as the Donegal county board announced that Naomh Conaill's appeal with the Ulster Council over the decision to replay the game has proved successful, and as a result, the replay scheduled for next Wednesday is postponed.

Donegal GAA tweeted: "The replay of the 2020 county final scheduled for Wednesday September 8th has been further postponed.

"Naomh Conaill's appeal to Coiste Éisteachta Cúige Comhairle Uladh was successful and Ulster GAA noted a rule was infringed relating to video and the process must re-start."

They replied: "Kilcar's objection is to be remitted to CCC Dhún na nGall for re-hearing under a differently constituted (CCC Dhún na nGall) committee."
