Kildare and Naas star Jack Sheridan

Naas (Kildare) and Kilmoyley (Kerry) will cross swords in the All-Ireland club intermediate hurling championship final at Croke Park in a fortnight’s time.

Jack Sheridan struck 0-9 as the Kildare champions booked a 0-18 to 0-13 win over Tooreen of Mayo in Ballinasloe this afternoon.

Sheridan’s scoring prowess came to the fore during the game’s second quarter as he outscored Tooreen by six points to three to help send Naas in with a 0-9 to 0-7 half-time lead.

Four more from Sheridan and one from long distance off the hurl of Kevin Whelan had the Leinster champions up by four come the second water break.

Shane Boland kept the scoreboard ticking over for the Mayo men but they finished five short in the end.

At the Connacht Centre of Excellence, Kerry champions Kilmoyley saw off Derry counterparts Banagher by 2-15 to 1-12.

Maurice O'Connor grabbed both goals for the winners, with his first coming in the 13th minute to help his side lead by 1-5 to 0-7 at the halfway stage.

The Derry men hit the front early in the restart after Stefan McCloskey found the net but they couldn’t push on, as their opponents got their noses in front again with 12 minutes to go (1-9 to 1-8) before O'Connor hammered in his second goal four minutes later.
