Momentum is a big thing though and you rather have it than not.

Where's the positivity. With the right mindset everything is possible.

It's great to be where Roscommon are. A first home Connacht title for 25 years and a first home championship win over Galway for 36 years. We're smiling but Tyrone are a tough draw. Best of luck to Roscommon team and management on Sunday.

Before 2026 when was the last time Michael Glaveys had 3 forwards consistently starting for Roscommon? GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 8572 - 23/05/2026 00:06:04 2674709 Link 0 |

Good sensible selection by the men in charge. No need to change a winning team. The bench is also very strong and if used properly should be the winning of this one. Tyrone will have had the opportunity of seeing Roscommon in action in 2 championship matches whereas our management team will really only have the Armagh game to judge Tyrone. At this stage league form is of no relevance. Best of luck to all on Sunday Rossieforever (Roscommon) - Posts: 128 - 23/05/2026 09:50:20 2674726 Link 0 |

Probably never. Two Glaveys men on the 1980 All Ireland Final team. Dermot Earley ( Army but Glaveys) and Gerry Fitzmaurice.

Lads, you know I'm a confident man but Tyrone could be a banana skin for us. Good to see an unchanged 15, as the lads deserve to have their place. If the lads come out knowing they have to play a game, we will win. But I just home some of them don't think it is already won! But I'll go for the Rossies by 5. Cheers Endgame. I think Dermot and Paul Earley played some games together for Roscommon, but Dermot not a Glaveys player at the time.

That's still only two.! You are correct there. Dermot Earley's last game for Roscommon was the 1985 Connacht final defeat to Mayo in Hyde Park. Paul Earley also played for Roscommon in that game. Dermot Earley was Army but originally Glavey's and of course born in your county.

Best of luck to players and management today, wouldn't be easy, but hopefully the bench will make the difference hontherossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 171 - 24/05/2026 12:53:03 2675003 Link 0 |

Sickening defeat, the errors that led to so many of Tyrone scores and amounts of scores we wasted, certainly a win we keft behind us. Three week break before a knock out championship football without stating the obvious lots to improve on if we are to reach round 3. Roscommon's mistakes did cost them today. It's a mainly young Roscommon team who'll learn a lot from this loss. It was such a pity to let the excellent Niall Morgan get his kickout away after Paul Carey's equaliser. It's always painful to lose by a single point but Tyrone were the better team today. We'll see now who we get in the draw. Management will have to look at Tyrone's three goals and how easily Roscommon's defence was carved open.

A Kerry Vs Roscommon Round 2A match would be mouth watering. A chance ho revenge thr controversial 1 point defeat in Killarnry St the end of January Jack L (None) - Posts: 3209 - 24/05/2026 17:32:29 2675081 Link 0 |

It'll be one of Kerry, Meath, losers of Armagh v Derry and losers of Westmeath v Cavan. Roscommon have only ever beaten Kerry once in the championship. 1944. The first team out of the hat has home advantage.

It can be any one of the 7 other 1st Round losers ( except Mayo, if they lose to Monaghan). so... Kerry Meath Kildare Loser - Westmeath / Cavan Loser - Armagh / Derry Loser - Dublin / Louth Monaghan ( if they lose to Mayo) I'd say priority 1 - avoid Kerry, priority 2 - home draw Solo_Run (Leitrim) - Posts: 223 - 24/05/2026 19:04:41 2675117 Link 0 |
