The current circus suits Mayo down to the ground

Staying nice and quiet and plotting away

I like it..

Very good side. We've had some great tussles with them and there has only been a hair's breadth between these teams on occasions. The mud being slung at Dublin in the past week with everything from funding, to population, to semi final venue, to disgraceful charges of PR ploys when laying a wreath to honour our fallen at the hands of an occupying force... Mayo will be delighted to see this circus going on while they prep for Tipp. I like Mayo's shape. Could this be their year? The way the last 8-9 months have gone, I wouldn't be surprised.

Well even you lads have to hope the championship remains relevant to some degree.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dublin let Mayo lose by about 5 and then people can say it's still competitive.

Mate

Just because your lot aren't any use doesn't mean it's not been very competitive

All the results are there in black and white across 10s

It quite clearly shows how competitive it's been in the AI series

I would imagine Mayo are not looking beyond Tipp. Mayo are the one county that should have beaten Dublin on at least one of the occasion. They were very unlucky with a few ref decisions and own goals etc. It's funny although they have nt beaten this Dublin team in a big match they def spook them. IMO Mayo are capable and have been beaten by teams Dublin would destroy but they are the dubs nemesis for the last 5 or 6 years. I often looked at the match programmes and thought Dublin are so far a better team than Mayo but Mayo just have something with Dublin that they can rattle them. However Mayo know that they struggled to beat weaker teams before on the backdoor route before rattling Dublin so I'd say they won't take a Tipp team for granted that gave them one hell of a fright in 16 when they met in semi final.

I think Mayo, Tipperary and Cavan would all have a similar chance against each other, with Mayo being slight favourites of course.

But the Dubs are on a totally different level and it's hard to see anything other than a Dublin 6 in a row. Whether they do it easily or with difficulty only time will tell, but the result will be the same.

Big thing for me though is, those teams have to try and beat the Dubs, 1-9pt defeats do not equate to a win and are nothing to celebrate!!

Dublin and Mayo have met 8 times in the championship this decade and only twice have Dublin won by more than a point. Even last year when we had our biggest win, Mayo were ahead by two at the break.

Always wary of the men from the wesht.

Agree Hteam but Mayo the only team capable of putting it up to Dublin. Its in their DNA. Ever since the infamous John Finn broken jaw in 85 semi there is a tension between the two teams and you had the Hill Gate in 06 when Mayo won and 12 when Mayo beat them again when Dublin were reigning all ireland champions. Also the best team on the day does not always win with them. As I've said Mayo were def better on the day in a few finals but in 12 Dublin were much better than Mayo but Mayo got the rub of the green and decisions that day. They are great games for the neutral. Even last year while Dublin were superb in 2nd half beating Mayo easily. the first half was really exciting and close. Even though Mayo g Ave nt crossed the winning post they gave given all us gaa fans great days.

Ah come on lads. The present Mayo team aren't a patch on the 2014 to 17 team and the Dubs don't seem any weaker. Truth is the Dubs would beat the pick of the three teams left. We have a few promising young lads coming through but it will be a couple of years before we know how good they are. Should be a good competitive game against Tipp though. You have to admire the Dubs application, must be boring to be that much ahead of the pack. Even their fans can't work up any enthusiasm because there isn't anyone to argue with. When you see Jimbo, even halfheartedly, praising us we know we have reached rock bottom.

Exactly same in the 2015 semi final replay, it was still tight enough until Kev burst the net with 5 minutes to go. Championship games involving the two are never boring nor a walk in the park for either team......but let's both worry about our respective semi finals first.
