If you were lucky enough to be at Kingspan Breffni Park last night you would have see the total demolition of Castlerahan last night by what has to be the favourites now to win the senior title. Castlerahan had no game plan what so ever kicking long balls into their forwards all evening after doing the donkey work winning the ball in the first place. Castlerahan seem to be void of any other game plan what so ever. Not one last night on this team stood out for a second viewing to be honest. Was at the game last night, Kingscourt were the only team who could play football. They spread the ball around nicely and used the space well. Castlerahan were brutal it must be said, no heart or fight in them. Barry Reilly was played at FF for the stars, I don't know if he was 100% fit. He kicked some nice 45's in the first half and won his fair share of ball. Joe Dillon was at midfield, took the wrong option a lot of the time but put in a solid amount of work. Mullahoran beat Killygarry by 0-14 to 1-9. Kingscourt Mullahoran final. Loughduff Lad (Cavan) - Posts: 2487 - 16/09/2012 17:30:25 1267088 Link 0 |

After been at both semi's, it is clear that there will only be one winner in the final in 3 weeks time. Mullahoran simply won't be able to cope with kingscourt powerful running game. They were unstoppable at times last night. Very impressed with them as good as of a performance i have witnessed in a long time. Mullahoran have done well to get this far but if they keep it under ten points they'll have done well. There appears to be a new force in cavan football after the gaels dominance. I can see a new dynasty beginning for the east cavan men, who knows where it will take them? Ulster ? Croke park next march? P.Mus (Cavan) - Posts: 386 - 16/09/2012 18:13:03 1267109 Link 0 |

awh here, talk about completely losing the run of yourself Kingscourt in an AI final on Paddy's Day in Croker get real will ye! Probably be bet in the first round of Ulster, Tyrone football is a hell of a lot stronger than Cavan football. lifebuoy (Cavan) - Posts: 628 - 16/09/2012 18:17:21 1267111 Link 0 |

have to agree with Lifebouy on this one, Saying Kingscourt will beat Mullahourn by 10+ is ridiculous but saying Kingscourt could end up in an Ireland final is just plain silly, dont get me wrong i'd love to see it happen and i will support which ever team ends up in Ulster be it Mullahourn or Kingscourt but there is more chance of Cavan winning Sam in 2013 then there is of a Cavan club winning a club all ireland.. poor display from Killygarry, old failings came back to haunt them, inability to perform for the 60 minutes, only played for about 15 minutes throughout. Mullahoran were better side, but with the game hanging in the balance with 10 minutes remaining, two huge decision swung the game in Mullahoran's favour. Enda O'Reilly's point was clearly wide and from the kickout Eddie won a 14 yard free for what can only be described as an elaborate dive. massive 2point swing with 10 minutes remaining. Still, Killygarry gracious in defeat, Mullahoran were better side. Jobless (Cavan) - Posts: 10 - 17/09/2012 08:46:55 1267276 Link 0 |

A lot of nonsense being talked here in the last number of posts. Let's just get a few things straight. Godhimself (Cavan) - Posts: 64 - 17/09/2012 11:30:19 1267409 Link 0 |

killygarry were 2nd best for 50 minutes of the game and were very lucky to be still in it with 10 minutes remaining, no argument, but the fact is that they were in the game with 10 minutes remaining, deservingly or not. They had scored the last 3 scores, Mullahoran were rattled, and reacted by bringing in a double substitution, the game was there to be won by either side and them two decisions helped swing it Mullahoran's way. best team won but these breaks decide games Jobless (Cavan) - Posts: 10 - 17/09/2012 11:44:50 1267420 Link 0 |

For 3 years now I've been listening to the hype about Castlerahan, great young team, future champions etc. and for 3 years I've gone in to Breffni Park to see them tamely exit the race with barely a whimper. It's not the fact they lose, after all only one team can win it every year, but the manner of the defeats, abject capitulation on all 3 occasions, that makes me think they're never going to have what it takes to get over the line.
