Qualifier v Fermanagh

McCutcheon is injured Ritchie. As for Dunne, like I said previously, if you attended any league games you would know why he isn't starting. Meehan and Maloney Dernham haven't covered themselves in glory either. Is Niall Smith starting? He is one Gaels man who should.

Finally this side delivers, great result and what makes it better is the character they showed coming back from 6 points down, hoping for a home draw in the next round

well done to cavan today. a great second half performance. brilliant at midfield and picking up the breaks. thought D.Mckeirnan made a difference around the middle when he came on. Gearoid, t.Corr, n.Smith, J.Brady were excellent. defencefely we were sliced open throughout the game but looking forward to the draw. hopeully it will be kind to us... kerry at home would be nice!

Great win and well done to the lads. Hope we get Leitrim or Monaghan now !!
On a sour note - our backs are giving away far too many frees, many of them needless !!

James Reilly - Made one decent save and kickouts were perfect apart from one, looks like the old miller
Killian Clarke - Harshly taken off although he was on a yellow (undeservedly),done well though
Podge - His man rounded him easily a few times but had a better second half
Darragh Tighe - Impressive championship debut from the Killeshandra man
Mckeever - Another man taken off,had trouble in the air but will need to be at his best the next day
Damien Reilly - Some silly fouls in the first half, much improved in the second half and chipped in with a nice point
F Flanagan - Had trouble with McCabe and wont be happy with his performance.
David Givney - Done well until he got injured. Interesting to see if him and keating will be used together in the full forward line the next day
Mossy Corr - Very impressive display. Gaurenteed his place the next day.
Niall Smith - Nice early point. Quiet for Fermanaghs purple patch but instrumental in the cavan revival. Picked up nice few breaks too.
McKiernan - Immense. Man of the Match. Gave a display of leadership and courage. Led the cavan comback.
R Flanagan - Although not a natural half forward picked up breaks and tackled well.
Nial McDermott - Took his goal well and impressed when he moved out away from goal
Eugene Keating - Not in the same form as the Donegal game but will have other days
Jack Brady - Impressive, very determined and took his scores well

Of the substitutes, McLoughlin done best. Declan McKeirnan got on lots of ball and used it mostly well. It was great to see some pride back in the jersey. The Cavan team of a few years ago would have lay down when they were 5/6 points down. This team showed a belief that the u21s showed in the last few years.

sadly as a result of this so called quick fix result some now have lost the opportunity of winning an all ireland junior medal what a shame just so that hyland and ford could get a few pat's on the back.

This is a young team and they really rallied well after being 6 down. The first goal was as good a move as you would ever see. I thought Fermanagh got some very soft scoreable frees in the first half and on point flagged that was clearly wide. However we found ourselves down and responded well. This team needs experience and we will get at least another match. You could see Canavan's influence on his team their support play and taking passes at speed was impressive but they, and not our young team, dropped their heads when we came storming back.

The success at u21 and minor will take another couple of years to really transfer to the seniors and make us contenders, but this helps massively!

Who cares about the junior championship. We need to try and get a good run in the qualifiers and get some experience for this young team.it was a good comeback today and it will give the team a bit of confidence.

Good result. Well done to all players and management. First 10 mins and last 25 mins be bossed the game. Lots of work to be done especially with the silly frees given away. Hopefully we will get a reasonable draw in the morning . It would be great to build up confidence and momentum . We could match letrim, Monaghan,Limerick , but think we need to stay clear of Tyrone, Kerry,Galway,Kildare,Wexford.

Those that have been deprived the opportunity of winning the all ireland do and let me tell you that Cavan needs all the success it can get for this Cavan senior team are going to win nothing and don't get carried away with today's result. Who do you want to draw next bet you don't want Kerry, Wexford, Roscommon to just three who do you want next that might be easy, wake up we are miles away from being a senior team with some form of contenders for anything but the wooden spoon year on year.

Its ironic that you criticise Hyland and Forde considering the emmense contribution the both have made to our county

The junior is useful but no more than that, uor young team have a championship win now, the first step on the journey

Congrats to all involved yesterday. Great to see Cavan play inventive football with pride again. It just shows that there is a spark of light, but we need to get our best footballers on the field against Kildare if we are to progress. Not nit-picking just to be negative, but there were some worrying selections yesterday in defence. Cavan need Hayes on the field against Kildare.
