Leinster JFC semi final Cavan v Longford

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

League games don't count, he played against the local team here yesterday in the league. He might get some game time with the county if Kildare play in and win the Leinster semi final on 1 July. There is then a three week break to Leinster Final and they might arrange a Champiionship round on the weekend of the 8th otherwise it is via a loophole with the Kildare hurlers or a show for next year.

This really is scraping the barrel. What did Terry ever do to you? Are you aware that we have had our best spell at underage, u21 and minor, over the last 3 years. What did we win between '97 and this spell. In case you were in the UK, the answer is NOTHING. But sure Terry must have been responsible for this bad spell, he must have been even responsible for the low standard of club football in the county and who knows he may have even been to blame for the Gaels and Crosserlough dominating Cavan football for long spells in the '60s -70's and recently.
I really think decent supporters should totally ignore your rantings and ravings. You sound like a broken record. Yes Seanie is gone, but as 99% of true GAA supporters throughout the county and country believe it was a total con job. Come up here to Dublin and hear what all the fans are saying. You might be shocked!!
So it is time to support Terry and the team and with the Juniors getting to a Leinster final it proves that there are good footballers in Cavan. We have to be patient and bring the young lads along with the help of the more experienced players. Rome was never built in a day!!
---Just look at Paul Brady winning handball world titles,
---our young boxers,
---the Maguire twins from Ballyconnell,
---Virginia College
--- the Fleadh ceoil
So richiej stop denigrating your "own" county. Be proud of all the players who wear the jersey and support them!!!

Johnston is actually eliegible to play for Kildare. He lodged his intial transfer request before the rule change at Congress. When the CCC approved his transfer, the original rules applied. He is now a Kildare player.

Even if Johnston was eligible he isn't eligible for Kildare Juniors. If he was, he would have been playing against Meath on wednesday night.

Well done Seanie, scoring 5 points in his first game for his new club. We are the losers in Cavan !!

Why are you all spending your time on here talking about a player who isn't even a cavanman?

In my first post concerning this entire event I will say that Cavan are the loosers,
Seanie Johnston like a lot of Gaels players have not been dealt a decent hand as far as County selectionis is concerned.
Cavan Gaels where Seanie played his last Cavan football is a club that has produced many great footballers Johnston included who will/do not want to play for the County.
It is with regret that I say that the ;pride of wearing the Blue of Cavan holds little appeal for sme gaels players.
Why is it?
I dont know but it may make a wonderfull tread on HS to find out why the Gaels fellows turn the back on the County colours.
