How many bookable offences must Philly McMahon commit before he gets a yellow card ???

Replying To Pope_Benedict: "Well, have a look at it, yelowbelly, and then give some consideration to the type of 'huge boost' the referee felt we'd get from his rush to award 'it'." Like I said earlier Pope, I only came on here to congratulate a fine team on a well deserved win. If you want to bitch about the referee, then go right ahead and do so.
And while you're at it, have another good look at the 2 cowardly, late hits on Lee Chin.
Good luck

Replying To clondalkindub: "Hang your head in shame with this post." "Not shooting the lights out against bigger teams" ??? What about his performance in the AI club final ( 2014 / 15.?). One of, if not the very best individual performances ever in Croker.
Now, let a truly talented player take his punishment and then get back to doing what he does best. . . . . . winning all-Irelands.

Ah lads, this ref has lost the plot, a blatant footblock 3 metres from goal isn't a penalty ???

Replying To lowballplease: "Brilliant win yesterday-congrats to all.
Whats up with Jason Flynn-he didn't even follow his man yesterday. He was whipped off after his man scored a point and young Monaghan leveled him with a shoulder then-wrongly booked.
Mannion for Flynn the next day and then as you were I'd expect. Its great to have such a settled team.
Thought we were a big ropey/casual at the back for the goal.
Concern we don't score goals but could be due to sweepers-the eye sore of hurling." Well done lads, I'd have no complaints, the best team deservedly won. It MIGHT have been a bit more interesting if we'd scored the penalty, it was a huge boost to Galway and they put the game to bed in the following 10 - 15 minutes.
I hope for your sake the lads can keep up that level of intensity and point-taking. If they do, and with C Mannion back on board, the world is your oyster !!

Replying To Jack L: "I suppose that nothing will be expected today. Wexford are not the team that they were. They are living on past glories. I expect that they think that they should not be in D4. Their arrogance was their downfall last year when they failed to gain promotion. Their hurlers are on a crest of a wave with the Davie Fitz bandwagon. The footballers will not have the following they used to have. Could be a chance for a shock result. Could be the break that Magee needs" What sort of useless post is that ? I asked a simple question about a venue change !!
Not the team they once were ? Well thats fairly obvious, a few years ago we were division 2, now its division 4.
Past glories ? Sure we havent had any "past glories" since 1956, how many people around here can remember that ?
Arrogance cost us promotion ? . . . . well you may explain that one to us.
And I'm afraid you didnt get the "shock result", and Magees search for the "break" goes on.
By the way, amongst the small attendance there was good banter and craic with the Wicklow supporters around us. Thanks for the hospitality guys.

Replying To juan31: "Three weeks to our first championship game I can't see us in three weeks just switching it on and everything coming together hopefully I'm wrong..our intensity levels are not there for the full 70 minutes the scores we gave away from misplaced passes and fumbles was disappointing e.g the goal we conceded never should have happened" Whatever about the standard of hurling, I sure wouldn't question the intensity in the last 15 minutes. We were a man down, against a team with the wind in their sails, and (I felt) it was sheer dogedness that (nearly) got us through.

Replying To perfect10: "it has been a black morning for wexford gaa......a chap who played minor for wexford 2 years ago took his own life.
dont ever underestimate the pressure of playing inter county hurlers and footballers,no player goes out to play bad no matter the game or code.
we should be thankful to everybody willing to sacrifice so much,i was sitting by the fire when they were running around pitches.
dont ever forget how bad the players must be feeling this week, they all have families, feelings, etc.
it is easy where we are.give them all a break.it is only a game, they do a lot for our enjoyment.
give over everyone.there is more to life than hurling, football, hurling v football, football v hurling.it is a hobby.they are not being paid." That sort of tragedy puts all this squabbling about Davey, sweepers etc into context.
I've only just heard who it was, obviously we wont post it here but it is well documented elsewhere. What a fine young man, good hurler & footballer, R I P
PS. I know it is well publicised right now, but please, please, lads talk to someone. Whatever the issues are, just talking can relieve so much stress.
I know this is a GAA banter forum, but if we can get that message out there it might avoid more heartbreak for another family

Replying To perfect10: "just look at the names of the posters who are running the hurlers down tearintom, they are all from the one cloth and one interest and hurling is not it!
i support both codes,i do prefer watching hurling, but support all things wearing p+g.
it is sad that so many others just waited 8 months for their time to show their bitterness towards hurling..and then wonder why nobody goes to football matches!" Perfect10 talks about bitterness ??
In all the post-Waterford game posts on here , who was the first (and only!!) person to try and revive the old hurling v football debate ? While posters gave various opinions on the game, sweepers, Davy etc, ONE poster had to have a cheap swipe at the football set-up.
And now that poster talks about "bitterness"???

Replying To hurlorhurley: "Moving on to the Galway game now. I wouldn't fear Galway for one minute, we have already beaten them in their own back garden this year and we are better now than we were then. Galway are a team who on their day could hammer anyone sadly for them though they tend to implode on many occasions. I feel the Leinster Final will be another of these locations and Wexford will be well set up for them. I expect Wexford to be Leinster Hurling champions on July 2nd for the first time in 13 years." Not giving Offaly much respect there, are you !!!!

Was the last Wexford / Kerry all Ireland game not in junior semi final 2 years ago ?
And did we not win a leinster minor title in the late 60's , maybe 68 or 69 ?

Replying To gotmilk: "Is that what Jonesy got the line for? I didn't see it so if that's what it was for then he can have no excuses. That doesn't mean the ref didn't have a poor performance. Yellow card for James McMahon (number 5), free against Barry Mulrone (11) in the second half when he was pulled to the ground. Your big number 8 taking Sean Quigley out off the ball in front of the ref, definition of a black card yet didn't give it.
Would you like me to continue?" I really would like you to continue when you've removed those green-tinted glasses !! Yes, the ref didn't have a great second half, but there were 2 teams at it. Yes, Daithi ( the big number 8 ) might have been lucky, but he got NO protection from some of the "treatment" that he received.
By the way, what's the story with the Brewster pitch ? It's in awful condition. I've been there a few times over the years but I've never seen it so bad.
