Bringing Children To Games - 9 Like(s)
If you have a child young enough to be breastfeeding then the environment of a packed Croke Park is not the place to be. Noise levels, cramped environment, awful toilet facilities are all reasons why Croke Park on all Ireland final day is not the place for babies. If a child is exclusively breastfed then the parent has a choice to make - either stay at home and watch the match on TV or come up with a different feeding regime for the day and leave the child at home with someone else. The child doesn't have to be exclusively breastfed, that is a choice. The sense of entitlement is astounding.

Donegal's Motion Fails - 7 Like(s)
Lads what happens is that someone "high up" sees a potentially financially damaging motion on the clar at Congress. What happens then is a high ranking official or officials will contact Co.chairmen individually to presuade them to instruct their delegates to vote against it. Usually with the very well mannered but serious threat of funding cuts. For example a phone call to the cork chairman may have gone something like this "Tracey, that sandpit will have to be paid for, there'll be less money available if motion X passes, so it would probably be best for you if you vote against it". Or to the Antrim chairman "about casement park, you know that the GAA are fully supportive of the project, but if motion Y passes then we might not be able to commit as much funding to the project as we had planned" To the overseas chairmen "lads, you know the way we subsidise all your trips to Ireland for matches, well if motion Z passes then......." This is what happens ladies and gentlemen when a motion is brought forward like this

Move To National Forum Only Model - 5 Like(s)
This will be my last post here unless the Wexford forum returns. We had plenty of good discussions on a variety of different topics. I see you've retained Meath and Cavan only. Why? The Wexford forum was every bit as active as those two.

Player Power comes up trumps again - 4 Like(s)
What's wrong with "player power"? Why is that become such a dirty word. Surely the ones with the most power are the ones who actually play the game. Managers are there to serve the players not the other way around. In business it is the opposite but for hobbies and pastimes it is the participants who should have the power

Championship Celebrations - 4 Like(s)
I'd say the main issue which those in authority have is the presence of the cup, which is Kilkenny GAA property and probably dedicated to some great Gael who's family may not be too enamored by the fact that an overweight stripper was using it as a bra. That's where the disrepute and disrespect comes into it. No problem with having private functions like this but the presence of the cup means that the event is associated with the GAA

Hurling Gets All The Plaudits But Is It Played Within The Rules? - 4 Like(s)
Why anyone would wish to play in the full back or full forward lines in hurling is beyond me as the ball just keeps going over their heads. What a ridiculous statement, just add up how much full forward lines score. Its not a skill any more to hit a ball from sixty, seventy yards over the crossbar and its ruining the game. It is a skill, and a very difficult one at that. where would the great inside forwards such as Nicky English, pat fox, jb murphy, noel lane, eddie brennan, tony doran, tomas mulcahy, joe deane etc fit in to the modern game today? If they were good enough to play at the increase tempo and skill then probably in the same positions as they were in their hayday. Graeme Mulchahy wouldn't be too dissimilar to Joe Deane, Jonathan Glynn is often played in the Tony Doran role, Patrick Horgan is every bit the player that JBM was. and finally aside from croke park and maybe semple the smaller provincial pitches are not suitable for inter county hurling today. Why? Which are the smaller ones you refer to? Gaelic Grounds? Pairc Ui Choimh? Pearse Stadium? Wexford Park? Nowlan Park? Im actually surprised that I am even bothering to respond to such a ridiculous post

Replying To dontlookback:  "Christ, not another one. 1. Numbers are accurate, not words when money is involved 2. The time delay is the critical factor, unless of course you're of a mind that a year is a short time 3. Incorrect, an audit is establishing the facts based on the terms of reference , a forensic audit deals with financial matters that may be subject to legal proceedings. 4. I'm not sure you've read the bit where I said "Should you ever read or listen to an informed & reliable source for your "information" you'd possess the knowledge that the Ed arrangement was not, I repeat NOT made by the County Board" And as for arrogance and condescension, the thought that you and your new found Galway friend think that by reading a few media articles you've got the inside scoop on a juicy bit of gossip is beyond arrogance. The condescending part is laughable in your case insofar as I doubt you've got the ability to name 3 officers of Galway GAA as I wouldn't for Wexford GAA without the aid of Google yet somehow your miniscule knowledge of Galway GAA entitles you to an opinion similar to your new best friend. Have a titter of wit like a good lad and stick to the keyboard gaming."
You have admitted the very same facts as the galway poster your giving out about. 1. Is 750,000 is less than a million? Yes 2. Were Croke park were involved? Yes 3. Did a special audit have to be conducted? Yes 4. Were tiny profits in comparison to cork made on concerts? Yes You've gone into explaining reasons for these things, but you've yet to disprove any of the basic facts from above

Consistency?? - 3 Like(s)

Replying To Ulsterman:  "Now we'll see just how consistent tbe GAA are. Brian Cody just put his hands on an official and pushed him back. It was virtually the same as the Diarmuid Connolly incident. If the GAA don't take action Dublin will have EVERY right to feel aggrieved."
Ah stop, cody was going down the sideline and the fourth official jumped in his way and the 4th official pushed him back and Cody pushed the 4th officials hands away and said "don't push me". If anything it's the 4th official who should be banned.

How can someone intentionally rip off a helmet during frantic play when they are looking in the opposite direction and haven't a clue who or what is behind them. It was ridiculous by the Sunday game to even highlight it.

Mayo Ladies Walk Out - 3 Like(s)
Looks to me as though they used "player welfare" as an excuse to justify petty/tantrum behaviour. If this is the case then falsely accusing the management/co board of not looking after the welfare of the players is pretty serious and would deserve a charge of bringing the association into disrepute.

Replying To dontlookback:  "Ok let's start with a school lesson Inaccuracy = an aspect of something that is not accurate 1. €750k is €250k shy of €1M, suggest you don't apply for any jobs that require simple maths. 2. Croke Park were asked to intervene 12 + months before they actually did, suggest you obtain a new calender every year 3. "hardly a forensic financial audit" is a more complete representation of what was a lack of numbers in the feedback back to delegates by Mazars, suggest you consult the Parish GAA guru or get off the couch and put some of that spare time into the GAA at Club level or heaven forbid the dizzy heights of County level. 4. Should you ever read or listen to an informed & reliable source for your "information" you'd possess the knowledge that the Ed arrangement was not, I repeat NOT made by the County Board. Should you feel the need to have any of that further diluted to a level of comprehension I've never yet had to stoop to, please grow a pair and ask your supervisor."
That is one of the most arrogant and condescending posts I've seen here. 1. He said less than €1million. 750k is less than a million so he was correct to say less than a million. 2. He said croke park had to be asked to intervene, which they did. You've just said the same 3. Explain the difference between an audit and a forensic audit? An audit is a forensic look at the finances of an organization 4. He just said the levels of income made from the concerts were very low. Which was accurate. You went into the reasons for it Where exactly are all these inaccuracies you speak so arrogantly of?
