The reality is that Cody is nearly bigger than hurling or at least thinks he is. For years he has been managing his team while also reffing the matches, berating linesmen and intimidating opposing managers and sometimes being disrespectful to reporters. When rules are attempted to be brought in for the good of the game but don't suit his team he attempts to block them. The mask has slipped.

I was impressed for so many reasons. In the rugby...... 1. No irish players surrounded the ref pleading with him. 2. Everyone was calm. 3. The correct decision was arrived at. 4. The player accepted the decision. 5. Management accepted the decision. 6. The irish commentators and analysts accepted the decision. 7. No talk of ruining the game, that he ruined it as a spectacle, that they are taking the manliness out of the game, of the player's great disciplinary record etc. We could learn a lot from it.

Brolly's love in with dublin is painful, always on about what great humans they are, was compromised when analyzing their matches mentioning how he met them socially (maybe those stories never happened). In all his years commenting on them he never mentioned the advantages that they enjoy.

I don't think the real story is being told at all. It's all glitz and glamour and aren't the dublin players and management wonderful. What about the story of players and managers from othetlr countines and all the hardships they have to put up with. A real lack of objective analysis in my view.
