Patrons of TEG Cusack Park have been warned not to park in a secluded area outside the Mullingar venue after a number of cars were vandalised there recently.

Westmeath GAA chairman Frank Mescall told delegates at last Thursday night’s county board meeting that they risk damage to their cars if they park at the “apartments end” of the ground.

“Parking is free on that side, but maybe it might cost less in the long run to park your car where it is more visible,” he said.

At the same meeting, Jack Cooney was ratified as Westmeath senior football manager for another two years with the option of a third, while Wexford native Joe Fortune was appointed as the new senior hurling manager.
