Replying To royaldunne:  "Keoghan best performance this year great to see. Graham was fantastic at times and off at other times. Hopefully the two weeks off will rest him bit. Seemed tired at times. Even I can say that."
Rest don't think so all players will play with clubs next weeekend that be the McEntee way

Replying To nobull456:  "Mayhem..............ABSOLUTELY well said this MOLLYCODDLING is a pain....It applies to other players on this forum as well. I cannot understand it as you say it is March etc. You wear the Meath jersey....thats the reward. If you dont give it your best you deserve any critisism that comes your way. I imagine Andy wont be doing ANY mollycoddling from here forward. Some players when blown up to be better than they are lose it , and feel its ok to wear the jersey, and stand with hands on hips when the need is greatest. Andy keep the pressure on."
Mollycoddling is not in McEntee physic

Replying To oldsam_newsam:  "Either way Biggy should have been replaced at half time. He was being targeted by louth players (again) and we had an ineffectual referee who was doing v little to protect him. Cillian O'Sullivan should have been brought on at that stage. This is not hindsight, I and others were saying this at half time. I am 100% behind Andy Mac and am impressed with his demeanor on the sideline and how he is conducting interviews etc but he is not infallible & I think he made an error there."
Bad bad Louth lads imagine targeting our best player. Not as if it would happen in a meath IFC final

Replying To Meath_True:  "Criningan, I've seen both players at their best and their worst . Burke , will have to foul to curtail Burns , and with that comes its pain , however Donnacha T is a better overall defender BUT , I have seen him loose his footing at the wrong time . And with Burns in flying form , that's not a good thing . I hope I'm wrong in either case . I believe the best way to defeat Burns is with Speed , someone who can complete with Burns in the speeds stakes ... Do Burke / Tobin give you that . Will they be first to the 1 Vs 1 ball ."
Aye ... lose his footing at the wrong time..... what sort of drizzle are you talking... suppose some great coaching manual would sort that out....

Meath v Kildare Semi-final - 2 Like(s)
Novice my ass. We not fit enough not fast enough not tough enough not cute enough. No plan other than kick high balls into 2 small men the rest of our forwards playing behind midfield every over hit lockout won by unmarked Kildare back. Every high kick out won easily by Kildare every short lockout put meath under pressure. You could not play any poorer if you tried. Our plan seemed to be when we got the ball to go on solo run up the pitch and into the nearest crowded corner. and then kick it anywhere and say a prayer some meath man might get it Whereas Kildare worked ball found the man on the shoulder and lay it off to 13 or 14 to kick a point People will say we did better in 2nd half course we did as Kildare soaked up and let us play a bit. 65 minutes before a meath man got booked says it all.

Have Meath improved in 2017? - 2 Like(s)

Replying To royaldunne:  "How many points did we beat galway by last year? Or how did we finish in same position in league? Yes the were just two doozies I can recal about how little you know about meath football. I may not get to go to every club game I want to. But I do travel to what is becoming the anual beating of meath senior winners every year. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the structure of the meath senior club championship is a joke. It is letting down the players and the clubs in the way it is set up. Now I wouldn't expect you to agree , but vast majority would"
"Letting down the clubs and the players" Are you having a laugh when change was agreed to drop to 16 in senior and intermediate who changed it back ... yes you guessed right.... the clubs changed it back led by a fee old fogies of delegates It is the clubs that have the final say in everything

No Navan club players on the team? - 2 Like(s)

Replying To Meath_True:  "Go away outta that BigJoe , can you tell me where Seamie Mattimoe comes in here . He's been tormenting Senior teams for the last 2-3 years for Kells . And done the same at Intermediate level for years before , I don't see him on the panel now . What's that about .I go to matchs and see who the real players are . Token players from the regions is not what its about . Look at the Ratoath/Dunboyne bias , what's that about . half the County team is supplied by 2 clubs in the county . Its a number of years since Dunboyne won the Championship . But they have a solid representation . DUNBOYNE. Navan O Mahony's won the title in the last 3 years and who have they on it ........ Smell the coffee . The Meath Juniors are managed by Conor O Donoghue , what club is he with/ from DUNBOYNE The 2 recent debutants on the Meath Squad for the championships are from what Club DUNBOYNE A player who is currently playing with a Senior Club ( but who no one has heard off outside of a particular club ) , came on as a sub in Meaths Junior Championship Leinster Match recently , what Club is he from DUNBOYNE . Now I don't have a chip on my shoulder about this or any other thing in relation to GAA , but please don't tell me this is co-incidental . Oh I forgot , what club did the current Meath Senior manager played football with and lives in DUNBOYNE Smell the Coffee . BigJoe and the rest of the County"

Janey a few years ago anyone that sneezed it was Micko's fault they left the panel. Now it seems the "reports" are there are lots of drop outs of course none is due to McEntees....... Fact is lads have lives to live and can do as they like.... Can it be seen as a lack of commitment in this day and age I dont think so. The expectation on commitment is massive, the expectation on success is minimal. Can it be seen as lack of ambition due to the Dublin factor ....Maybe.... But at the end of the day can it be seen as one of the reasons Meath are now well done the pecking order....Yes.... The players arent there to start and the few that are appear to be going away

Replying To brian:  "Lads am i wrong i thinking is Firde not suspended or has he served that already? On Harnan - maybe they're giving him club games to get back up to speed. Didn't he go abroad for the summer for study/ work reasons? And needs games rather than gathering splinters? On the bench, i think it looks very light. There's no one there that strikes me as thats an impact guy who'll get a bunch of scores or will improve the defence. Maybe the wallaces and McMahon but they're three similar players. On injuries - Tobin, James McEntee and Newman not being involved will improve the situation and strengthen the panel when fully fit and available On U21's - i'm sure they've been given the week off and will be in fit and raring to go come the next match. I'd expect the two Conlons on the panel. (St Colmcilles guy might not play but have him involved for experience). Dan O'Neill and Ronan Jones once injuries clear should be pushing for starting spots. Personally think David McLoughlin will be brought in too. Being doing well the past two summers with Moynalvey in sneior championship. I've seen in other forums a lot of posters writing these U21's off already, lads Kerry won an all ireland in 2014 with 11 players on the panel (that number might be wrong) from a team that got hammered by Cork at U21 level two years previous. Its never about the underage team and how it performed at senior, its about the players and how good they can be at the next level. The fact Jones, O'Neill etc were involved last year indicates they should be involved this year too (although we all know how odd MOD could be so maybe i should temper that expectation)"
Harnan got injured with club last weekend

Replying To Greenfield:  "Jarlath Burns had little sympathy for Louth's 6 day turnaround last night. He claimed the county boards of Meath and Louth would have agreed the fixture date so that they could fix club games around that. He never sees much wrong with GAA decisions but he saw it as a small victory for the club player. Did I miss a full round of club fixtures the week before the Meath-Louth clash?"
Burns talking a load of balloney no club championship in Meath or Louth

Watch out for him tomorro the lesser known seldom spotted but often heard the untrue or false one. He be the one smiling tru gritted teeth if meath do well or if the opposite he will be have a big sad face but on closer inspection will have smiling eyes. He will stand about consoling anyone who will listen to him saying I told you so. He normally can be seen in green and can be recognised by his hard neck.

Replying To meathman20:  "is that some sort of joke from county board?? county final will not be played until nov now ?? not fair on players to have to wait another month for championship"
Senior final date not changed. Round 5 put back 2 weeks not a big deal. Clubs I reckon are happy and will have time for injurys to mend . 2 weeks hurling and then A leagues which is good week after is all Ireland football final so good plan as far as I can see

Replying To srgt_slaughter:  "i'm being realistic here, obviously i want us back at the top table but not before we're ready, we have to run before we walk. im thinking more long term than short term here, need to get our own house in order with proper structure through our underage system so that we can constantly compete at the top level. no point staying in div 1 for a year or two to come crashing down through the divisions, that benefits no one"
What this structure your on about. Give examples of what Meath need to do. Line them out 1,2,3 etc. This structure stuff always intrigues me. I wait in antispation

Replying To srgt_slaughter:  "completely disagree and this is an outrageous statement so in your opinion the christy ring is a b compettition? and not worthy to be called an all ireland say that to any of that panel and see where it lands ya. as a duel player the fixtures this year have been a mess but in fairness there have been summers in the past few years with very little football played in them because of the hold up with meath footballers. think of longwood who constantly had to play on tuedays because of mickey burkes involvement with meath. he never complained so its a stupid argument your making."
Slaughter read it again that is not what I said but now that you bring it up the Christy Ring is a 2nd Tier competition wether people like it or not. Liam McCarthy = A Christy Ring = B Nicky Record = C Lowrie Maher =D Meath will play in Leinster B next year with other counties not good enough to play in real Leinster Championship.
