Time To Take A Stand. - 23 Like(s)

Replying To Ulsterman:  "The Irish News is today reporting that the Antrim hurlers were subjected to anti Northern, sectarian abuse and taunting from Waterford players in yesterday's game in Corrigan Park. What motivates fellas to do this? Is it just slagging/sledging in attempts to put players off or is there something more deeper and systemic in what's going on? Do other GAA players and counties not understand what many Gaels in Ulster faced over the past 50 years. We have had members murdered, clubhouses attacked, pitches studded with glass, pipe bombs attached to gates, non stop harassment and threats from the RUC, UDR and British Army etc. Do people not know the history of this island or do they just not care? It's time for Croke Park to issue a statement on what's going on. If this was happening to any other group there would be an outcry. Enough is Enough."
What's your views on people from the North calling people from the South things like West Brit, Free Staters etc Or do you just pretend that doesn't happen?

The irony of starting a thread about Kerry being hyped up when you're doing it yourself. Is someone annoyed that he's not talking about Dublin?

Armagh Vs Galway - 7 Like(s)

Replying To Ulsterman:  "Armagh should not be singled out and blamed here. A few decisions went against them during the game and as many Galway fellas were swinging and throwing digs. There will be the usual element who will try and castigate the Ulster team."
Just like as usual you refuse to accept when an Ulster team is in the wrong. You'll find there was far more of it from Armagh but like always you'll play the victim card and everyone is anti Ulster...

Is David Clifford The Best Footballer In The Country Right Now? - 6 Like(s)

Replying To TheUsername:  "I find generally there is a very low threshold, to any critique around Kerry from Kerry fans, seems to me at times many of the fans just want to be told how great they are and how great their players are. If that's questioned or critiqued it's straight to victim mode. No idea what the purpose of joining a debating forum is really, with that mental pathway. Why not just post on an echo chamber of a Kerry only forum., I'm sure there are some. Look, for many years Kerry got a lot of affirmation and rightly so, for a few years now they've been not as successful, talking about that and discussing some of the reasons around that isn't always knocking or being snide, some times it's objective, analysis or opinion. I tried to that in my posts above, without personalizing you, in fact I think I've said very complimentary things about you on here in the past, unfortunately you felt the need to personalize this debate now, when things got hot and heavy between you and Jim, that's poor Gerry. Anyway it's unimportant, all that matters in on the pitch. It's disappointing you've jumped into victim mode and personanilised the debate when you ran out of steam, I always considered you one of the good ones, but you live and learn, best wishes."
''I find generally there is a very low threshold, to any critique around Kerry from Kerry fans, seems to me at times many of the fans just want to be told how great they are and how great their players are. Replying To jimbodub:  "10s of thousands marching around during a pandemic being governed by a large Police presence in close proximity in open air conditions deemed perfectly safe and applauded. 9 fellas secretly filmed having a non contact kick around at 6am with no one else around, photographed standing 6 feet plus apart = Front page news. Take the punishment as its warranteted and move on. Tis all getting a bit silly now this lark"

What a surprise. Going on about people's post count again you don't agree with something. How come you never say anything about people from other counties with low post counts who you agree with? Like a curtain "Kildare" poster?

Kildare Vs Dublin - 6 Like(s)

Replying To jimbodub:  "[quote=avonali:  "[quote=jimbodub:  "On Dublin go.. The bonus territory continues Severe first world problem syndrome for a few of my fellow Dubs ;) #5 is in the bag and #6 is unheralded We are playing against teams happy to be 10pts down and still sit deep with 14 behind the ball.. What do you want Du6lin to do exactly? I hope they continue to highlight how useless the blanket is now, Previous swash buckling go nowhere Dublin sides couldn't beat it, in fact got humiliated and bullied. Very short memories.. Du6s are operating at a level never achieved in the game, they are in a completely unique position for a number of reasons. The one that really stands out a mile is.. Unfortunately we have teams competing against Du6lin that don't want to give themselves any chance of winning whatsover.. that's the problem folks. Imagine playing the game against teams with little to no real intention of trying to win the game.. Happy to be have limited offensive options and blanket defend a 10pt deficit.. it's baffling. What would you do in such a position if you played on a side that almost continually faced such a scenario.. Its a credit to Du6lin that they are still so hungry."
Jimbo, there is some truth in what you say but, Sport is a spectacle and as such it needs to have some element of excitement, some tension, some intensity to absorb us. If football is a game of two halves then today's match was , like Sam Beckett's "Waiting for Godot", a play in which nothing happens twice. Or at least some moments of excellence. Where were the creativity, the incisive moves and pacey running off the shoulder?? Where was the deft foot passing and high fielding?? Today was awful-35 euro for a ticket to watch that muck? I love the Dubs and I believe their team has been very creative in dealing with the blanket, but this is different now. You'd want to be blind to not see that there is a serious issue emerging in Gaelic football and I don't mean the dominance of the Dubs. A lot of IC Gaelic matches are utterly boring events in which nothing really exciting happens!"]Nothing to do with Du6lin Du6lin reacted to a situation that already existed Apparently that was destroying the game at the time.. Dubs countered it, rendering it useless. Teams still setup like that against Dublin.. Not sure what you want Dublin to do... Continually over commit and run into swarm tackles like in the 00's?"]If what anyone to actually take what you say seriously the "Du6lin" isn't going to help. Especially considering you claim to be an adult with children....

Dublin's Success Not Down To Money - GAA President - 5 Like(s)

Replying To KY4SAM2015:  "You will be waiting a while for a straight answer to your question. Dublin posters on here continuing to deflect away from the simple question you have posted. Its as clear to anyone that even though they have a very good group of players, they have been massively supported from the GAA in contrast to the rest of the country. Whether they have won 1 in a row or 10 in a row it does not make any difference."
Some of them will write paragraphs of more or less nothing to try and make themselfs look intelligent, yet wont answer a very simple quetion when it's put to them

Dublin Vs Kerry - 5 Like(s)

Replying To Joxer:  "La Rochelle would have been proud of some of those Kerry tackles alright. It was a clear tactic in the second half to stop the Dublin runners who had cut them open so easily in the first. Rugby tackle them down to give the backs time to retreat and get the duvet in place. You have to hand it to them, it worked."
Not too dissimilar to Dublin in All Ireland finals so? Or do you pretend that never happened?

Down Manager Alleges Sectarian Abuse - 5 Like(s)

Replying To tiobraid:  "I dont think this is completely accuate. I grew up in an era when Tipp football was at a real low ebb and the football teams I supported as a young lad growing up werethe Down team of the 90's and that excellent Armagh team. Whether people disliked Tyrone or not was probably down to the style of football but had absolutely nothing to do with where they are from - i'd be surprised if what you say is accurate. Like the Limerick poster I know plenty or Protestants in the GAA and while I never heard much abuse in GAA circles I've heard plenty of abuse thrown around loosely in conversations. The people of this country are so poorly educated on this. Sam Maguire and multiple others were Protestants and from what what I know, 99% of GAA people are unaware of that. We've had a former president of the GAA in the not to recent past also. Religion and nationalities should never come into it. We pride ourselves in Ireland as being so hospitble to foreigners, tourists, etc and yet this type of behaviour is bred into some many. Having lived in multiple areas around Ireland I can say without question that some are far worse than others. It's far from isolated. Lifetime bans is the correct course of action."
Very few on here over the years have tried to push this idea of everyone being anti Ulster than Ulsterman. He jumps straight in to call everyone anti this and that and tries to deflect from anything he doesn't like. There was a record number if red cards in the Armagh Tyrone game, if they were all justified isn't the point, so it of course was going to be talked about. Ulsterman and other Ulster posters however are trying to make out it's only bring talked about because of the teams involved. Had it happened in a game with any other teams it'd likely get as much coverage. In actual fact it's mostly Ulster posters who are keeping it going.
