Former Derry minor star Conor Glass says he’s intent in pursing his love of Gaelic football after retiring from the AFL.

The 22-year-old confirmed yesterday that he’d played his last game with Hawthorns FC, having signed a rookie contract with the Melbourne club in 2015.

Now it seems he will be returning home to give his all for club and county.

Posting on his Instagram account, Glass said: "After having many discussions and thoughts over the past few weeks, i feel like its time for me to put an end to my AFL career and pursue my love of playing Gaelic for @wattygrahamsgac and @officialderrygaa.

"Thank you @hawthornfc for the opportunity over the past 5 years. You have developed me as an athlete but more importantly, as a person. Also a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me over the years, from the coaches, staff, players, the hawthorn fans, The King family and all the friends I have made."
