Former Kerry captain Darran O’Sullivan reckons Mayo would rather meet Dublin in an All-Ireland SFC semi-final than the final itself.

James Horan’s side booked their place in the last four in the race for Sam Maguire by virtue of last Sunday’s victory over Galway in what was the first Connacht decider played at Croke Park

Speaking on RTE Game On, O'Sullivan said he had a "sneaky feeling" that the Connacht champions could topple the Dubs provided the All-Ireland champions keep things to script against Kildare in the Leinster final this weekend.

"I think Mayo would rather play Dublin in a semi-final [rather than a final]," said the four-time All-Ireland winner.

"They look like they feel they're on the right track...They're coming onto the radar now, it's all positive from a Mayo perspective."

He added: "Mayo are on an upward curve, quietly going about their business and getting better and better with every game.

"I've a sneaky feeling for a Mayo win in the semi-final [if Dublin win the Leinster final]."
