Liam Kearns is set to become Offaly’s new senior football manager.

The Kerry native’s selection was announced last night (Thursday) by Offaly GAA and he is set to be put forward for ratification at the next county board meeting.

He will succeed John Maughan in the post after the latter stepped down following four years at the helm with the Faithful County.

Kearns has previous been in charge of Limerick, Laois and Tipperary during his time in inter-county management, leading Tipp to an All-Ireland semi-final appearance in 2016.

He has been appointed to a three-year term in Offaly, with his backroom team set to be announced at a later date.
