Galway clubs in the allireland series might not have the support of their closest rival clubs, but that would still leave them 'supported' by 95%+ of the Galway GAA community.

Congrats to the Martins, one of the best performances from a Wexford team in many a year. Jacko was immense, typified a never say die attitude that ran through whole team.Hopefully the whole county gets a lift from this. FearBeag (Mayo) - Posts: 95 - 07/12/2025 09:03:47 2647282 Link 0 |

Well done St. Martins, a crowd of us met up for the match and it was an early start but it was a great game. Delighted for Jack and Rory in particular, they have given their lives to Wexford and St. Martins and Jack gets a lot of undeserved criticism. What a performance. Some hunger and work rate. I was shouting at the tv like it was my own Club playing. You cannot beat attitude. Great game Yellowhelmet (Australia) - Posts: 161 - 07/12/2025 09:59:03 2647286 Link 0 |

Some of the better Martins players don't want to play Senior intercounty sadly. Same as some of the better Rathnure and Gorey lads. In fact you could probably put a team of lads who apparently didn't want to play Senior intercounty this year, or weren't able to becausethey are away, but who played club this year, on a pitch against our current Senior team and there wouldn't be much in it Id imagine. Aaron Duggan, Conor Firman, AJ Redmond, Ian Carty, Paudie Foley, Barry O'Connor, Shane Lawlor, Eoin Molloy, Gary Molloy, Jack Cullen, Dee O'Keefe, Mogie, Joe Barrett, Stephen O'Gorman, Oisin Foley. There's 15 straight away off the top of my head, no doubt there are plenty more. Billy Dunne, there's another who came to mind while I typed that last sentence. Gavin Bailey another. Paul Morris even. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17695 - 07/12/2025 11:38:14 2647289 Link 0 |

Hopefully the lads take it easy at the wedding on Friday, but thats a big ask from someone who isnt even a member of their club.

He gave a coaching the coaches session at the club last winter, a really excellent coach. Great intensity to his session with a mixed group of our u16s and u14s. Has most of the young lads hurling now in the local National School since he became principal also. Hopefully the Martins run is why we still don't have a lead coach in place with the county team. Not sure if Neil O'Loughlin was offered it, but the 2 of them have been the standout coaches in the county the last 2 years. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 17695 - 07/12/2025 11:45:53 2647292 Link 0 |
